Here is a comparison between my old rotor rings from my FK8 with the new rings installed to the hats for the FL5. The old rotors had cracked through. Also have photos of a few more goodies ready to rock n' roll!.

Oh snap! Here we go! I’m trying to see if I can make it to a auto x this weekend in Daytona. Its going to be packed and for points and never done that lol. I always try to go for more casual events.

Let me know how you like the brake lines. I’m looking for some for my car. Either goodridge or Dream will be my go to.

I used goodridge on the FK8 without any issues at all. I'm sure Dream will be the same. I just can't fathom $500 for Spoon lines. Massively overpriced.

Oh no screw the spoon parts. I like forbidden jdm fruit as much as the next guy. But won’t spend money unnecessarily. Its a car after all, rather spend that extra on me and my family.

Or you can buy them from Blackhawk Japan. Should be less than $300 shipped.

Just checked it out, very cool website. Did add them to the cart and they were like $392 just to check. Better price for sure, but at that price I will still stay away. They did have the spoon wing for S2k for a more reasonable price. ?

Wow the difference between the old rings and the new ones is crazy. Do you regularly take your rotors off to check for cracks? I feel like having a crack like that could be really bad and there's no way you could tell unless you completely take off the rotors and look inspect them, unless maybe the rings have some sort of service interval?

Tracking the car hard will certainly destroy the rotors! The small heat checks in the face of the rotor are normal, but I remove the wheel and perform a visual inspection of the edge of the rotors to check for cracks. Definitely time to replace when the cracks go all the way through the steel. There isn't a specific service interval for the rings because every track you go to is different. Some tracks are just harder on brakes than others.

The track prep continues! Just got done replacing the factory brake hoses with steel hoses from Dream Automotive, and I'm happy to report that they fit great! I also installed the AP/Essex 6 piston front calipers/rotors on the front w/ Paragon R7 pads. For the rear I swapped out the factory rotors for GiroDisc rotors and Paragon R5 pads! Just went through the bed in procedure, and I've gotta say...this setup will put you and your entire stick figure family through the windshield!

Damn dude! Badass! I’m super happy with the stock calipers with P2 pads and I thought the braking was phenomenal. Can’t wait to try out the R5 down the road. Upgraded calipers are very far on the list lol.

Damnn those brakes are hardcore...

Did you get weight differences between the two set ups (stock vs AP)?

Looks like the build is coming along nicely!

It's only about a four pound difference total. Wheels will make a bigger difference!

I just realized I didn't get a picture of the girodisc rear rotors, well at least not a good one. I've reused these from my FK8. Both Essex and girodisc rotors are made in the United States, and they've proven to be extremely hard to kill! 10/10 would recommend!

Just broke down and ordered the Remark Ti exhaust for the FL5! I need more exhaust noise in my life!
Post pics! I really like everything about the remark except the exhaust tips. Its the only thing stopping me from getting one.
