Has anyone come up with specs for 18?

I came up with the following

245/35R18 - avail in a/s and summer

235/40R18 +45 with 3mm spacers - avail in a/s, summer, w/t

Depends on wheel width. On FK8, almost nobody selects narrower than 265 or 255 when downsizing to 18x9 or 18x9.5 wheels. The 2023 CTR prototype wears 265/30R19 tires.

Previous FK8 CTR would use 18x9.5 with offsets ranging from ~33 to +~45 (ideal). We would not be surprised if the new 2022 Civic Type R had similar proportions and track width. Only time will tell, but we'll be keeping a close eye on it and will be R&D'ing various fitments for the new platform!

Black (CBP) FK8 Civic Type R,

Very likely that the OE wheel size will be a 9, 9.5, or even a 10" wide setup which provides room for lower offsets or even wider wheels all around, only time will tell. We saw the video, and based on our intel, we already have many sizes in preparation for the new 11th Gen Civic Type R, including but not limited to 9.5", 10", 10.5", and even 11" bolt-on setups so we are all very eager to get our hands on the car here at the shop. Should be interesting! Maybe we can fit a 285 or 295 up front for even more grip like we did on the previous 10th Gen Civic Type R.

Update:

https://www.civicxi.com/forum/threa...r-11th-gen-fl5-civic-type-r.50859/post-830767

TE37 18x9.5 +45 5x120 has been test-fitted, and confirmed to fit the new FL5 11th Gen Civic Type R. Shown is with 265/35/18 at OEM height. Our TE37SL in 18x9.5 +45 5x120 (product listing here) will boast a concave face and will serve as a bolt-on affair for this platform - with plenty of factory Brembo brake clearance (factory brakes are 4-piston 350mm fronts). Next up - time to test fit some 18x10's and 18x10.5's and potentially 18x11's!

Downsizing from the conventional factory 19's to 18x9.5 wheels with a +~45 offset will prove advantageous for those who are looking to increase ride quality, reduce unsprung mass, and increase overall driving dynamic. Going to 18's will allow one to also run better compounds on the street / track. The OE tires are 265/30 on a 19x9.5, and very much like the previous generation, the sidewall is a bit thin on the factory tires. Going down to an 18x9.5 +~45 will enable one to run a 265/35, 275/35, or even a 265/40 tire for improved ride quality. IF one is looking to fill the wheel gap more, we recommend going with a 265/40 on an 18x9.5.

More photos + official fitment thread found here. Looks like this will be one popular size, those who had the TE37SL 18x9.5 +45 5x120 from the previous FK8 CTR generation should see their sets hold the best value if they anticipate getting an FL5 11th Gen Civic Type R. Fitment is flush.

19s are the way to go, 18s are to small.
I disagree. The tire diameter on the FK8 was 25.7 and so you could get away with 19s and still have some sidewall. The tire diameter on the FL5 is 25.3, so I think if you want any sidewall to protect from rough roads, 18 is the way to go. (265/35-18)

My thought purely based on looks, IMO 18s look to small on the R.

So for snow tires it'll be something like 245/40R18son 8" wheel? Is that what 10th gen people use?

Is going 225/40 on 18s +35 too aggressive for snow tires?
