Don't try and use the top/bottom clips for retention. With the mesh slipped in properly everywhere the two screws are more than enough.

For the time being, I added some automotive mesh to the fender vents, inspired by someone else on the forums. Costed around $20.

Do you know what size mesh you used? I ordered what I thought was right from Amazon and the holes were too big?

I just got the Sukeban guards in. I don't have my FL5 yet, so I can't comment on fitment, but these guards look well made. They're really just laser cut kydex, but they do have a good design. The vent holes that they're using now are not the circular holes that are seen in photos, they've updated to a higher flow design which is like 3D cube shapes.

Any photos of the updated vents? He doesn't do a very good job of showing his product anywhere. Curious what the new design looks like since I did not like the round holes before.

I'll post some pics soon. I also didn't like the round holes, the new design is much better.

Got the fronts in. Overall… extremely pleased. The inside surface is a smooth kydex that appears to be scuffed, but you 100% do not see it when installed. The back side is textured, and looks totally black. The holes were well lined up, and use factory screws to good effect with some tilt and in/out adjustability due to the slot holes. I used the recommended Dorman 112B fasteners, as they’re a little more secure looking and easily taken out if need be. The new holes in the Sukeban look way better than the old style simple circles. I’ll get an installed photo soon, once the backs are in. I used some door edge tape on the painted surface where the flaps touches, just to prevent scratching from inevitable dust/grit and vibration rubbing away paint, and that took a while to trim form 5/8” strip and apply/dry. Otherwise these would take 5 minutes to install, but the top OEM push clip is quiet difficult to get out and will 100% break.

I've searched through the forums and online, and I don't think anyone has made splash guards for the FL5 yet. I'm hoping someone can prove me wrong. I just added spacers, and it would be nice to add a bit more protection because of the extra poke.
Hi.
For anyone here interested in Splash Guards or Rally Mud Flaps, check out RokBlokz.com and the RokBlokz YouTube Channel.

Also... shameless Self-Plug here. I just posted yesterday, March 2, 2025, an Install Guide in my new Sporky SideGrades thread.

https://www.civicxi.com/forum/threads/sporky-sidegrades-texas-fl5-type-r.56495/

The RokBlokz Rally Mud Flaps are kinda big. If you want a smaller, more subtle setup, Rokblokz has an FL5 Splash Guard set as well. Just go to RokBlokz.com and type "FL5" in the search bar, and you will see all the products that RokBlokz makes for the FL5 Type R.

* I think they even make Splash Guards for the Civic Sedan. *
