Check here. This is where many of us learned how to do exactly the opposite of what you want.

Maybe you can reverse engineer for yourself the progress we made for humanity over there.
Or just read the thread and... maybe... leave your TPS Report module disconnected.

EDIT:
By the way, I promise I'm not laughing AT you. Am laughing TO you, from across the pond.

Cheers.

I’m in the Uk so I assume I can reconnect mine and get it working
I don’t think in the UK there will be those issues
Yes, as long as the TCU is still inside the car, it should be easy to reconnect the two wire harnesses into it, and it should start sending out TPS reports post haste.

As @Cueyo asked, though, why do want to get it working again?
It's really a rhetorical question for you to ask yourself, as it's your perogative whether to "share or not to share".
To each his own.

Now I'm wondering, hypothetically. Let's say the TCU has been removed completely and does not exsist anywhere inside your car.
Would you pay money to buy another one? It's another rhetorical question, as it's none of my business, yet it would be interesting to know.

Cheers.

Since your in the UK, I'd recommend warming the interior prior to removing the dash panel. This lowers the chance of breaking the clips.

If Honda can track us via the TCU, so can the government. If you seen videos of hackers taking control of cars, the TCU module is their way in.

Most of the newer cars in the uk have a telematics module and no one here as ever considered disconnecting it to stop big brother
This is just a reason to use the Honda plus app to view driving history and get up dates

Dude, it's a car. It doesn't need an app, nor an update.

I'm a Gen X Boomer though, so I guess I just don't get the appeal. Matter fact, I ignore all of the emails from Honda inviting me to make a MyHonda account and install the app. I have zero interest in any of that BS.

To each his own.

In the UK they will throw you in jail for a social media post. Imagine what they will do with that telemetry data.

@Day1971 ,

England needs to send out the telemetry-free Goth Signal to call on Super Amelia.
Maybe she can help you shut down the Aloha Snackbars and save your Queen and Country.

I have yet to find someone give me a reason they use the app that would make sense (to me) to keep this connected.. looks like they are $80 shipped on ebay lol

I use the app, I also pay for the additional remote services where I can unlock and lock the car from the app and it has GPS tracking, its like $10 a month. The GPS tracking gives me a discount with my insurance. The monthly cost of the app and the discount, comes to like a total of $25 savings a month. So it works out for me.

Nice! thank you for the information - nice to have some reasoning behind it.
