Thanks for all the kind words. The car was stolen from my driveway using a booster signal from my keys inside the house. 1 minute to steal it. Faraday box has now been purchased.

As the theft uncovered a chop shop, it’s an ongoing and active investigation by the police. I had good footage of the theft on security cameras and the tracker showed both the route and destination of the car. I don’t know where the tracker was in the car. I don’t think I’d get another tracker though, maybe a ghost or card activated immobiliser.

I got 85% of the value back from the insurer (no gap insurance) and have now bought a second hand german sporty estate. Faster but not quite as much fun to drive.

I'm glad that you got some decent financial compensation and a nice Euro estate ("sport wagon", for those of us in the US).

I know that I'm not alone in wanting to see justice properly served upon this scum thief and his thug chop shop ilk.

If and when you have the energy and feel like enlightening us some day, please return to this thread to let us know what happened. It is not your responsibility to do so, however, and please do not feel obligated to return to the forum just for little ole us. We understand that an event such as this is very physically and emotionally draining.

You have absolutely no obligation to revisit such a tragedy.

Get a MetaTrak deadlock tracker, they are excellent. I’ve had ghost on 3 of my fk8s and they can be a bit problematic, plugs I don’t want the scum coming into my house demanding the code
