Nobody is saying, or thinking, that it looks as cool as a Lamborghini or McLaren. But the look has worn well, better than I expected. Color helps.

For between $50K and $60K it makes sense to look for a low production, very rare, unique, lighter and extremely quick 2021 FK8 LE that still has reasonable mileage.

Aegean Blue and Phoenix Yellow definitely fit the FK8 best IMO. I just can't get over the fake vents. Are there any kits that open them up in the front and rear?

The front fake vents were removed on the 20/21 model refresh, the only ones that remained are on the back bumper. The FL5 has some fake vents on the front bumper, where the FK8 has real vents on the edges.

Take a look at the Varis kits for it. Theres a widebody version and a non-widebody. It’s a pretty aggresive look, but instantly solves the fake vent argument in the front. In the rear, the 2020 refresh is the best you’ll get. Otherwise, yeah they sell vents/mesh to slap on there, they’d still be “fake” though.

Still looks like solid plastic to me, but I found some guys talking about some replacement grilles and just cutting the rear vents themselves. Really works for me tbh lol

I understand but don't really relate to all the fake vent hate. Vents on the back would not make much sense aerodynamically. On the front, yes those could have helped with much needed additional cooling. I don't mind the look, and think the original - my '18 or the '17, look better than the later FK8's. The decision to put a horizontal metal trim pieces through the solid black plastic just makes it look busier, not better IMO.

How did we wind up with the plastic fake rear vents on the FK8 in the first place? Perhaps it went like this....

'Can I just get some rear vents with freaking laser beams?' No? What do we have?'
'...um, we have these plastic vents.' Do they open?' 'Not exactly.'
'Are they offensive?' 'Yes.'
'Well, that's a start.'

only part it looks okay is from the front angle, completely falls apart back half. its not even looking juvenile, the car just isn't cohesive.

Typically rear vents are for cooling brakes

I can't remember which one cause I watched a dozen but there were multiple cars with rattles. Dustin Williams being one I believe.
Our test car had rattle in plastics on passenger side seatbelt area. I blasted it with my fist and it went silent. (I tried to add a joke but, I'll save it for another)

LOL well my car is driveable. Dude I love Hondas and have owned them for the past 15 years but you're delusional if you think the past decade was flawless for Honda, and despite Hyundais having some issues it was Honda airbags that killed people.
Honda’s record is bounds above Hyundai and if you’re gonna make a point it should be correct. Honda doesn’t make airbags homie, it was Takata who made airbags for many manufactures.

What about only 26% of Hyundais and Kias sold this century came with key immobilizers making them a piece of cake to steal? The topper is Hyundai has a fix for $170 they’ll sell you lmfao. - https://www.iihs.org/news/detail/hyundais-kias-are-easy-targets-amid-boom-in-vehicle-thefts

Furthermore, I’ve never seen Honda issue a warning about parking cars near homes because they spontaneously catch on fire. Link - https://www.nhtsa.gov/press-releases/consumer-alert-hyundai-santa-fe-recall-fire-risk

Lastly, go ask your service manager to give you a tour in back of the shop so you can see the busted Theta 1 and 2 engines they replaced because it’s cheaper to replace the junk motor that will blow up again because of a design flaw. The Theta 2 had $2B worth of replacements in a single quarter. Link - https://www.reuters.com/business/au...arnings-reflect-956-mln-costs-hit-2022-10-18/. Another link - https://hyundaiengineinfo.com/faq/

Like I said, not comparable.

PS - LMK if you’d like me to continue because I have more deficiencies I can share about Hyundai and Kia cars G.

I appreciate all the links, and like you said yes it was Takata who made bad airbags, did you know the latest issues with the DCT/high pressure oil pump on the Theta II also come from a 3rd party vendor? The fact remains as much as I love Honda, they had the largest recall in automotive history. The Elantra N is fun to drive and if I have an issue it's nice to know they'll replace the engine. 10 year/100,000 vs 3 year/36,000.

Except that there are plenty of consumer reports of them screwing customers over on that warranty and making people pay for their own engine or trans. Any K car warranty is laughable at this point.

warranty in general when it comes to a expensive job will be hard to get imo. No different from Toyota with their GR86, VW with their water pump and Honda with their sludge...
