Hello all,

Are there any tunes out there which make it simple to turn off the stability assist?

Would be nice not to do the pedal dance.

Thanks in advance!

"Tunes" typically only address engine (and transmission if applicable) calibration related items and do not get into safety equipment for liability purposes.

Sometimes some cars have a tool for "coding" that can make changes to other modules in the car.

Phearable's FL5 tune has multiple maps that have different levels of traction control that you can select on the fly if that is something you're looking for.

1 - Street1 - Base street settings with limited slip allowed. Designed for optimal traction.
2 - Street2 - More aggressive first and second gear than Street1 with more slip allowed.
3 - Race1 - More aggressive first, second and third gear than Street1 & Street2 with more slip and launch control slip allowed.
4 - Race2 - More aggressive first and second gear than all, traction control almost nonexistent and more launch control slip allowed.

I have the COBB intake and COBB AccessPort with a custom tune by Brian @JST Performance.

I essentially asked for the same set up as Street1 (maybe half way between 1 and 2?) since the added power in first and second was too much for me to handle... and I'll never race or track my car.

I am not a "sensitive" driver. It is fairly difficult for me to modulate the clutch and throttle and not lose traction, especially with the added power of the COBB intake and the tune.

My understanding is these tunes aren't explicitly messing with VSA. They're just changing clutch and engine power to help with launching. Anything changing VSA is just related to the things mentioned, not a change to the system itself. Or is that not the case?

I can only speak for the Phearable tune from personal experience but definitely seems to be doing both- changing how much power is allowed in 1st and 2nd and also adjusting VSA. In the most extreme setting it is absurdly easy to get the entire car to rotate- when in stock form it would just stick to the road like glue.

Thanks for the replies.

Traction control and straight line wheel spin is an easy solution. Turn the traction control off. Its cool that tunes have levels to them...but...I'd probably just use "off" anyway lol.

I was hoping there was a way to more easily turn OFF the stability assist. Like active yaw and passive rear brake vectoring and all that stuff.

If I were to track the car or go for a fun drive, for example, having to do the pedal dance every time I turn the car on would get old.

My understanding is that the tune controls HP and/or Torque requested from the ECU.

Probably also boost, timing, AFR, etc.

The pedal dance isn't that big a deal. I have to do it every single time I stage up during autocross, but it's second nature now.

On the street, if you think you're in a situation where you're driving "for fun", turn it off. Come up on some fun roads unexpectedly, pull off to the side.

Philosophically, things like this with straightforward solutions are only a problem if you allow them to be.

Probably a correlation with why no one has taken the time to develop a "one-button" solution for it to date.

Nah, I'd rather just hit a button to turn all of it off rather than pull over and do it lol.

Plus, I'd like the ability to turn it off in modes besides +R.

Doing the pedal dance at the track each and every single time is a pain in the arse, I wish there was an easier way as well.
