Type-R should be an humble step up from Si in pricing, otherwise, it's too much.

In 1998, I bought new DX Hatchback for $14K and put about $3k of suspension and wheel upgrades. It didn't have current Type-R's grip level or power, but it was unbeatable for dynamics and reaction. It's still the best handling car I've owned.

I'm expecting Type-R to be similar (or less) priced then current (here in Canada). If not, I'm not buying into the propaganda because the car is special built in Japan, when one of the other global plants could produce it cheaply. If Honda is upset about smart buyers wanting less, then US market with big ego's can have it all.

And they will.

Go play with the JDM configurator (with MSRP) while we fight for who’s got the biggest wallet.

MSRP 4997300 JPY (around $34726 USD :) ), even after adding a generous 15% JDM tax, MSRP still looks good before reaching the dealer lot. 👍

Curt don't tempt me to drive all the way from Atlanta just to buy a Type R from you.
Curt's dealership won't sell to out-of-staters, so cheeseheads only need apply.

Well... to update. We have stopped taking orders due to the inability to fulfill the orders we have. But all were sold/ordered at MSRP both Si's and Type R. I do have used cars that are selling above what they sold new. I am paying over MSRP at auctions just to acquire them for the lot. Crazy times.

I'm glad you guys are getting the business. MSRP for these cars might as well be a unicorn right now, so it's really commendable you aren't taking advantage of buyers. Fingers crossed I get anywhere near as lucky with a dealer here in the southeast.

Used Type R's are going for mid-high 40's so I guess that's not too bad.
Not good enough for me, but at least it's not 15-20k over.

Even if it’s 52k before TTL that’s still only 8k adm. 😆 I just heard myself say that ridiculous statement.

Out the door price? if so it's one of the best deals I seen around.
I think he meant price of the car so OTD would be plus tax etc. Logic was that they are only getting one this year and know someone will pay it.

As info, they are actually firm at $10k over MSRP. $54,535 plus tax/tag/$699 doc. Just spoke with two folks at the dealership this morning. Not great, but definitely not the worst we’ve seen.
