FWIW, from what I recall reading, that kit is a beast to install. Good luck! 😂
This leads me to the question I've run into over and over again--is it worth it for me to go to the trouble and cost to install something I'll rarely enjoy? For now, probably not.

We'll see in a few months!

Thank you for that redirection! I'm thinking the footwell lights in this kit may be what we get standard here in the US, but Japan may get red LED's under the seats as well?

I think I've driven my FL5 ~4 times at night, but now that I'm heading down this path, I guess I kinda like the idea of driving a glow stick when/if I do use the car at night. 😆
Yes I did the install for the JDM foot lites about a year ago… wasn’t fun for sure:banghead: the kit comes with upgrade front lights that go in the factory locations and two the get mounted to the seat frame.. if you need help with the install or have questions I’ll be glad to help/ assist:thumbsup:

Any chance you can share pictures of where it mounts on the seat frame and where the wire to them runs through?

Would you say the trouble of installation was worth it for the end result? I know that's arbitrary, but would love to know.

I would say yea it is worth it since the lighting from under the seat is really night from the Angel that it comes out and is not obnoxious at all :coffee:

I remember when you bought the car how disappointed you were in the sills. This is an L for sure on Honda. I also thought about adding them and just couldn't do it. Too chintzy for my liking. I'm good with no door sills. If you absolutely have to have door sills I would look at these:

https://www.tegiwaimports.com/selec...oor-sill-trims-honda-civic-type-r-fl5-23.html

They're not cheap, but they look a hell of a lot better than the door sill accessory we have stateside and they're OEM.
I've considered those but that's a lot of dough for some flat strips of CF. I think I need to get over the sills thing :D Maybe do J's Ti ones when they come out.

I agree. Those super thin strips are very pricey for what they are. They claim to be "manufactured out of real hand-made carbon", but I'm skeptical. It looks like a carbon laminate on top of a plastic strip. :dunno:

Just got the superspeed rf05 mounted. Swift springs settling in nicely. Some night shots

I’m surprised no one talks about adding an acuity spacer for better heel toe function. I think it’s definitely a must have. I have no idea why Honda spaced the pedals so far.

It has been discussed on a few threads. One of my favorite mods I have done so far. I even posted about it in this thread, post #603.

All drivers for my "OEM+" upgrade are inhouse, just waiting for my installer to have a slot open to get everything done. Unfortunately, a lot of the drivers need some (mild) customization work to mount/wire and I'd rather leave that to experts than hack up the FL5.

Bear in mind I could only find driver mount adapters for the front door and harness adapters for both doors. I'd still love to find the right harnesses for the rest just to make my installers life easy.

Reminder:
ONLY the front door drivers and subwoofer are 2ohm ALL other drivers are 4ohm. I'd also note that the OEM tweeters do have a capacitor so you'll want to put a filter on whatever you replace them with.

CDT Audio:
ES-6.2 front door (installed)
ES-3 center/dash
HS-1200i front tweeter
ES-5 rear door
DRT-25 tweeter
NOTE: everything but HS-1200i is refurb

Rockford Fosgate:
PS3D4-8 subwoofer (installed)

Dayton Audio:
PC83-4 C pillar/hatch

Total Cost is roughly $700 for all the drivers. The only ones that you "must" use are CDT 2ohm front door drivers, the rest you can pick whatever you like.

Don't do the hatch or subwoofer unless you are a nutjob like me, the sub does add a little bit but it's poor ROI and I sincerely doubt anyone will ever hear the difference in the C pillar speakers since you can't actually hear them anyway. You'll save a good $220 too.

This is for the update. I wish we could change the subwoofer gain by itself.
