Well, I did this a few days ago, but a super clean S2000 AP1 showed up nearby and I traded my FL5 for it + some cash back in my pocket. It was a very hard decision that I had been noodling for months. When this one showed up I just couldn’t let the opportunity slip away. The car was meticulously cared for by 1 owner (not counting the dealer). It’s in near time capsule condition. As they say, “Out with the new and in with the old!” …er…something like that.😅

I’ll still be here lurking because y’all are cool and I like the FL5. I’m jelly of those who have both an FL5 and S2000 (or Porsche Cayman/911) in their garage. And who knows? I might be back in an FL5 someday.

I just got my Alcantara Steering Wheel delivered and wheels put on. Had to order a torque wrench and some thin wall sockets to make sure the lugs are set properly. I should get that tomorrow.

Nice carbon center console! What brand did you end up with? You didn't get the red weave to match your spoiler?
Thanks bro ! I didn’t go with the Red Flash because there is to much red subtle. I like the red flash on my wing but it’s perfect . Plus eventually I’ll put my standard cf on my steering wheel again if I ever pull the box off again . The same on my other SGP and luckily had my dealer switch it back on for me 🙌

EDIT: This one CF shifter I can’t remember 🤪 actually it’s nice but my other in Irvine California but can’t find it either and it was even nicer .

Installed my Mugen Cf Yellow Stripe Shift knob today. And decided to go with the Revel/Tanabe Medallion Touring Exhaust. First thing i’m doing is removing the choke point at the Front pipe flange that’s 2.36” and replacing it with a 2.5-2.75” section and flange.

Their "Master Detailer" is probably the youth out back with the water hose that provides courtesy washes after service. This is a waste of your time and theirs. Just pass, have them order you the lower portion of the seat so you can move on. You may need the cushion/pad AND the cover since it may have bled through.

I absolutely loath bringing my car anywhere for service because of stuff like this. Happens all too often due to careless and thoughtless actions. I'm fine being the nerd who hands over his car with protection in place if it means I can lower the probability of these types of outcomes.
Yeah you’re probably 100% correct there! I contacted the dealer via email and told them that I don’t want to go through the detail process and want the exchange of a new lower seat cushion and cover. They called me back immediately and said that they have the seat cover on order but they want to inspect the cushion before ordering that too. That’s a start!

I had a AP2 when new 2005/2006 time frame, awesome car. The gear shifter in the FL5 reminds me of the s2k's gear shifter.

The shifter is similar, for sure. The S2k’s throws are significantly shorter and feel more mechanical (which makes sense, of course). I liked the shifter in the FL5. It was always smooth and effortless for me, but I can also understand why folks switch to Acuity to really dial-in the feel.

Congrats! Glad you picked up a crispy S2000, but sad to see you defected as one of the OG FL5 owners. No photos, no details? Would love to learn more about the car.

Did my Hks intercooler paired with PRL charge pipes install yesterday. My first time taking off the front bumper myself. That was nerve racking. Trying to not pull too hard and praying not to break any clips. Unfortunately, my front lip was screwed into the front bumper and I had to remove about 6 self tap screws to remove the front bumper. The two self tappers at each end of the bumper was covering 1 plastic clip on each end so just a heads up to anyone that is planning on removing the front bumper and you drilled your lip into the front bumper.

The Hks intercooler and PRL charge pipes fit without issues. You might ask, why didn’t I buy the hks charge pipes to match the intercooler. I personally didn’t think the hks charge pipes were worth the price and I was even in Japan when I considered buying the charge pipes. The hks intercooler I bought in Japan and brought it back to the US checked in to the luggage as oversized package. All in, with baggage fees, usd to yen conversion, I still paid less than what it would have cost me if I ordered in the US.

If you plan on getting the hks intercooler, the stencil placement will be too low if you spray the stencil how it naturally sits. I moved the stencil up 2 bars on the intercooler and as you can see in the picture, it sits more in the middle.

The size of the stock intercooler is a joke lol. I have 9k miles currently and the stock intercooler looks pretty banged up in the front. I am considering installing a mesh grill in front of the hks intercooler. Has anyone done something similar to protect the intercooler?

Next install will be hks ssq4 BOV (also bought in japan and brought back checked into the luggage) (i might not install it as i dont plan on venting to atmosphere and its kinda pointless if i dont get to enjoy the famous sound of the hks sqv bov), prl front pipe, and mugen window visors my next day off. Leaning over into the engine to uninstall the stock charge pipes and swapping them out to PRL charge pipes definitely made my low back angry at 6’3 lol

This is AWESOME info! Thank you so much!

I’ll post some pics and deets in a bit fellas. I didn’t want to take too much attention away from what this forum is for, but I also knew y’all weren’t gonna just let this slide unnoticed.😅 Here’s a little preview from the day I bought it. @Clark_Kent @ABPDE5

Congrats! Super jealous, that's what I want to add to my garage someday soon. Condition looks great! Out of curiousity, why not the ap2?
