It’d be a tuner’s dream and despite the noise about increased cost... I actually don’t think it’d change the cost of the Si much at all. I bet if you were buy one new long block vs the other from Honda, their cost would be about the same. This and that would be different. The car would crack 3000 lbs I’d bet... but it’d have worlds more power and, when tuned could keep up with the tunes on the competition. Right now, to me, the biggest allure VW has is a car with a turbo around the size of a TD04 on a 2L engine. APR tunes exceed 300 whp on gasoline. Hyundai is always going to play the long warranty with a low price card... but they're trying to play the horsepower game, even if their cars don't generally perform as their numbers would imply they should, and with far less efficiency.I think that Honda itself is pushing towards cleaner vehicles, regardless of what the EPA does. They are one of the 4 automakers who signed that pact with CARB after all to reduce emissions and make more fuel efficient cars / electric vehicles.
That said, I think the K20C4 is a good and healthy amount of power for an Si.
Naw… that's fine. If you look at reviewers... it is one of the more maligned aesthetic aspects of the car and it's probably 94.8% the vents. The 9th gen's rear being better is my opinion and is, also he only angle I think our car looks... well... not as good as it could. I just prefer the cleaner, non-vented lines and I actually like the lights better. Ours have grown on me... but... eh... I don't know. We'll have to see how ours holds up when gen 11 is out. To me... the more faddish designs... and fake-vents-galore feels faddish to me, don't age well. Clean designs do... again... to me.Ehhh... We can agree to disagree on this. I am no superfan of the lobster claws but even after the refresh on the Gen9, no. Just never liked them. The best looking Gen9 is the refreshed coupe but not sure if that could ever translate to the other side of the design shift in the GenX. I think the GenX will look very good for a long time. It will NOT be a Gen8 in that respect (Sorry Gen8ers, your cars are FUGLY).
