I bought it used from someone here (the man that has had every exhaust for this platform, God bless him and the exhaust was in mint condition, thanks Mike!) and the tips were the black cerakote ones, if I had the choice I woulda have gone for chrome tips for more "OEM". I will say this, the fitment of the tips is absolutely perfect and you can slide em in and out more per preference which is why I decided on this exhaust (took a while). I do think for most the resonated pipe will be better and I may put it on at some point, the exhaust came with both.
As far as the clamps, there are many opinions on these. I too was the opinion that has to be bolts and flanges but as a friend mentioned it to me, there are euro cars that come from the factory with clamps, hell, my previews car was an M2 and every exhaust for it was an exhaust that used clamps so I don't worry about it. Maybe once a season I get under there and make sure everything is tight, no big deal for me.

But I really dig that the option of having 2 4” tips and one 4 1/2” is there, but they also have something that says GT115 but no pictures on what it is. Also, what is the aluminum or metal plate that comes with the exhaust?

that replaces the heatshiels that sits above the exhaust. No idea why its included but my guess is that it sits more flush so gives extra clearance for muffler. Its a nice piece of kit. Welds are ok, not as good as jdm or even remark but not as bad as AWE.

Nothing particularly special about it, just another option. They made a system for the FK8, results were mixed and the price point was very attractive. Doubtful that low(er) price point will transfer to the FL5.

OMG, if a new exhaust comes out for more options, but people aren’t happy for some reason! It isn’t a crap one like a bunch of companies that just ride the hype train and is good. We too have multiple options out there. Or because they are the godly “JDM," anything isn’t worth it anymore? Thank you for posting other options for the platform and keep us on the know about what is out there. Probably will get another strike again because someone will get his feelings hurt.

I ran the AWE touring on my DE5 and loved the sound, but damn the rasp/rattle that everyone talked about drove me crazy. I never tried readjusting or refitting it but may consider going the same route on the FL5 and rolling the dice. If I do I'll probably do some spot welds to hold it in place since the slip on clamps kept coming loose.
