The new 2023 Honda Civic Type R is expected to make more horsepower and torque than the previous generation Type R (FK8). To stay at the forefront of Hondas latest platform, we put our FL5 on our dyno to see just how much more it makes over our 2017 Civic Type R.
When conducting R&D, we have a set of procedures we implement to ensure consistency and the most accurate results. This allows us to confidently share our results with you.
Dyno Test Procedure:
- 3 Baseline Runs
• After each dyno run we let the car cool down for 2 Mins
- Analyze - Share
2023 Civic Type R vs 2017 Civic Type R Dyno Results:
10th Gen Civic Type R - 316 HP & 334 TRQ
11th Gen Civic Type R - 327 HP & 359 TRQ
This results are great! The new FL5 makes 25 more TRQ and 10 more HP over the FK8.
"This car drives much better than the FK8 CTR" says Doug Macmillan Hondata co- founder. "It delivers 20-40 lb-ft torque increase from 2000-3500 RPM spooling 300-400 RPM earlier. We look forward to finding out how much additional power the 23 CTR can make with Hondata tuning” - Doug, Co-Founder
