I really hope there is a way to disable the pumped in sound in the cabin. That'd be the first thing I do.

Sounds utterly crap. Aftermarket exhausts will sort that

Ugh. I see a lot of aftermarket exhausts being sold.

Intake > exhuast

4 cyclinders engines dont sound that good imo. The mute sound is whatever but I'd rather hear the turbo spool and the induction sound rather than a louder exhuast on a turbocharged 4 cyclinder engine.

I know that a STI, or Focus RS is nearby when I can hear that crisp blow off valve go off 👌

exhausts don't make the sounds better, it just amplifies the crappy sound.
Not sure I would totally agree on that, having heard very, very different sounds from different aftermarket exhausts. You are right - an exhaust won't fix everything, but it can make a difference.
I think we both agree that sound sample from the FL5 is not encouraging.

I thought this until I heard the Sequence Manufacturing Exhaust for the FK8, its perfect in sound and volume. Given that the FL5 already has some active exhaust piping/routing my hope is that the aftermarket utilizes this to their benefit.

Maybe with millions in sound tuning you can change the pipe length and use of Helmholtz resonator you can change the tone but essentially the same. I think Honda has already put in the effort to tune the exhaust from adding the flap. That why v8s sound they do and v10 sounds unique because of the firing order. But generally, you're just amplifying that same firing over.

It's a turbo 4, I have a turbo v6 in my '87 Buick Grand National, a 355 Cid in my 80 Z28. V8 sound is intoxicating. It is what it is, the car is intoxicating for a 2.0T. Don't want a fart can I-4.

My fav is cold air intake sound and BOV sound, for exaust I like the crackles on downshift, but that might get annoying after a while
