I have a 2025 Civic Si and I like to plug my phone into the infotainment system with a USB cord because my wireless android auto freeze every few songs. However, I usually forget to plug in the phone before I start my engine, meaning that I connect to the infotainment with bluetooth. If I want to reconnect to USB, I have to shut the engine off completely and restart it. Plugging the phone in my cord only charges it; it doesn't connect via USB.

Is there another way to connect a phone to the infotainment via UBS once it is connected through wireless without shutting the engine off?

On iPhones at least, you can disable wireless CarPlay. This means the only way CarPlay ever connects is via USB.

Googling this for Androids, there appears to be a hidden way to do this by tapping on the version repeatedly. I can't vouch for any of that because I don't have an Android, though.

Just disable the Bluetooth in your head unit. You'll plug in your phone as soon as you realize youre not getting any music or anything from Android Auto.
Thanks, not a bad idea.
