This is definitely my area of least expertise. It looks like a few people are running 19x10 wheels, and 275/30 tires. I guess I just wanted to know if there were any other options for tire sizes on the stock suspension or what the suggested "range" would be (for 19x10 +45 wheels). I do know that tires are like shoes and the same numbers doesn't mean its the same size. TIA

Hi.

With stock suspension and 19X10 wheels, you can probaby go up to a 285/35 ZR19 size tire without issue, depending on the tire.

I wanna see photos when you do it!

Cheers.

All I have is an AI photo right now.. still will have to wait until i acquire all 4 and decide if I'm gonna powder coat them or not. May be some time as I'm trying to kind of do this on a budget.. extra wheels aren't a pressing issue for me right now either. I do appreciate your answer and am willing to share AI generated photos if you are interested.

Yeah, that would be sweet. I'm not a super fan of AI, but I do know it has its legitimate use cases.

found some of these BMW 5 spoke style 132 rims goin for kinda cheap (remanded) online and if im buying rims for my car, i dont want what everyone else has personally. just did colors to see.. i think i like the red the most?.. anyway heres some slop starting after the actual wheel and on an actual car.

Nooice.
Yep, color swapping is definitely a good use for AI. The used Beamer wheels look good, too.

I take it your FL5 is Boost Blue?

From a suspension and fender clearance perspective you'll be fine. I'd say to keep an eye out for brake clearance.

Tire sizing wise, I'd suggest a 275/30-19 if you're looking for something direct-fit. While you might able to get away with the width of a 285mm tire, you'd likely get stuck with a 285/35 and that sidewall will be huge. It could end up causing more headache than it's worth.

Edit: I just realized I missed this part. The reason I said "stuck with a 285/35" is because there aren't very many 285/30-19 tires around. So with limited tire choices, you might end up with a size you don't want, just to get the tire model you do want.

^Actual expert.

I have to admit, those wheels look interesting on this car. I would have assumed the offset would be the dealbreaker on a BMW but what do I know. +45 on a 10" wheel theoretically would work on this platform, assuming the brakes clear- which is crucial because the front brakes aren't necessarily small on this platform.

Just doing a touch of research, looks like these wheels were a staggered fitment (from an E53 X5, according to Gemini) so finding a set that are all 10" would be interesting.

Regardless, good luck? But I would def do a test fit before buying anything.

I have an e53 X5 and have these wheels. They are staggered, so finding a genuine set with 4 matching wheels would be difficult, but I have seen replicas that are in non-stagger setup. With that said, I would not use them on the FL5. Those type 32 are heavy! The 19x10 is about 35-40 lbs each! Talk about putting boat anchor on the FL5!

Is the reason you are looking at larger tires (wheels) for increased grip or for looks/style?

Adding both larger heavier wheels and tires will make the car drive and feel much less responsive and susceptible to tramlining.
