My driver's seatbelt started retracting extremely slowly and has even gotten stuck a few times. I read that it can happen due to a dirty belt but everything looks brand new and perfectly clean. Wiped down the belt with no improvement. The belt is not folded over either. It's like the retractor is just weak or needs to be lubed or something.

Anyone else run into this issue? Is there a lifetime warranty on the seatbelt?

following because my belt is doing the same exact thing. This might have to be a warranty claim before warranty goes.
the owner's manual says there's some limited lifetime warranty on the seatbelt...whatever that means. i'm at 66k miles so out of the normal warranty period. the belt isn't folded over or anything. the spring is just weak or something.

Following because this happened to my 2015 Wrangler JK with a canvas ragtop roof.
Different situation entirely, though. In the case of my Jeep, it was left outside on a ranch in North Texas for who knows how long at a time, because it was a weekend warrior sort of farm truck before I bought it.
Both front seatbelt retractors are super slow. Both rear retractors, however, are fine.

With your car being only 2 or 3 years old, that is concerning.

I hope you get it resolved.

found this TSB:

mine doesn't look dirty at all but guess it can't hurt to try and wipe it down with water and dish soap, 10:1 ratio.

another interesting thing; says NOT to use microfiber towels to clean it. only use COTTON towels.

i cleaned it. helped for a couple weeks. now it's back to being very slow to retract again. seatbelt constantly get stuck in the door because it doesn't retract all the way.

I would have the dealership look at it and explain that you feel it may be a safety concern. Even if your car isn’t under warranty I would think they’d fix it…but I dunno.

mine isn't any better even after cleaning the belt multiple times

i might try some dry silicone lubricant on the retractor

I brought it to dealer. they agreed needed a seat belt replacement which includes the retractor I think. So it is like day and night. the new seat belt is working as it should. So glad. The dealer said my extended warranty was not applied but rather a honda warranty separate from that.
