Gen 11 Type R, Elantra N (DCT), GR Corolla.

Decisions, decisions... ?

I think it'll be based on which has the least markup around 2023/24, if the world's still around by then ?‍♂

Also add the Integra Type S to the list of possible options.

Oh right, thanks for the reminder. Given the A-Spec's pricing ($36k), I think the Type-S will put itself out of where I'm trying to land, but that's TBD ?‍♂

The front and rear LSDs on the GR Corolla seal it for me - that'll be the most fun to drive.

If it's too cramped in the back I'd probably be ok with a Type R. My kids need to be able to at least sit in the back for pickup at school etc.

Can't wait. If it's close to the FK8 in engagement and driver's feel, it's an instant buy for me. I've always preferred smaller cars - my Type R is a bit large for my preference. Plus, a tuned 430 wtq through the front wheels is not fun when you're stuck commuting through deep snow, snow tires or not.

Yep. Can't wait to get my GRC. Will pair well with a CTR.

Now THAT will be an interesting comparison. Rear seat legroom has me concerned Re: the GRC, but maybe I'll end up sucking it up because it'll be such an awesome vehicle (that rear-quarter view has me bothered and hot). US dealers are already salivating at the potential markup I'm sure

It doesn't matter to me - if the GR gets front/rear LSDs, I'm buying one. If not, then the Type R is top of the list.

The ball is in Toyota's court.
Looks like your wish was granted, F/R torsens, with either 50/50 split or 30/70 split.

What a time to be alive. Great choices in the near future for this segment.

No right or wrong answers when it comes to preferences. Personally I'm a Honda guy but I wouldn't disagree with anyone opting for the Toyota instead.

P.s. holy moly the GRC's tailpipe setup will take some getting used to!

Type S with the R engine with goodies like leather, parking sensors and moonroof would differentiate from the R.

So it looks like the "cool" GRC will cost as much as a Type R. Looks like it's still between the CTR and the Elantra N when 2023/2024 rolls around.

Hope everyone's been having fun with the new car news these past couple days!
