Maybe wonder what it would cost to ship it to CA
Probably about $3k if you want enclosed transport. I had one of my car shipped to MA from CA and it was $1.5k with a non enclosed (don't recommend do this lol)

@daazn I would double check with a different sales guy. Yours might be giving you the run around. If you truly are #1 at MSRP, then another sales guy can just look in the system and confirm.

I called earlier today as well and was told there has never been a numbered waitlist, a deposit system to lock your spot, or sold at MSRP. The guy I talked to said the red one was sold over MSRP instantly and "no Honda dealer is selling these at MSRP".

If your guy is adamant you're #1 and at MSRP at the very least get it in writing so you have it saved. Not hating on you or anything, you just never know with dealer practices these days.

Not too upset cause I just put down payment on mine today at a dealership closer to home. Great advice for anyone else still looking

Hey guys, this is my 1st post. I have been lurking around for a while. I used to come back repeatedly for delivery estimates. I feel that this thread converted into a whining thread, about markups. I wish I could see more updates on deliveries, estimates, and happy new type r owners. Instead we have 85 posts on markups, as if the markups were a surprise. Can we have a different thread for markups?

We do have a thread for markups but you know, ADM and FL5 are synonymous around here

There is a thread for markups right here. The problem is that everyone who can't afford or doesn't want to pay a markup has to shitpost nonstop about the markups. The majority of the people who are perfectly happy to pay a markup mostly don't care to post about it; two of my friends are paying higher markups than I am and just dont care, why would they post at all? Just to be bitched at/trolled by people?

Also, despite some on the west coast being delivered, there's just very few in circulation at the moment. The entire east coast is without them, so there's not a ton of actual owners quite yet. The few people who have gotten them have mostly paid some markup other than a lucky few and the first thing asked when they post their dope new car is: "WHAT WAS THE MARKUP?!?!?!" So why would you post about your car if that's all people will discuss?

There's a few Canadian threads you can look at that share that information and continue the whining Canadian style.

Man it’s the same here no matter which thread you’re on. Facebook was even worse on Type R pages.

I am whining about the whining, nor about living in Canada. I could whine about so many things, like for example that Honda Canada ordering systems are sooo late, I couldn't order my car before Friday, while people in the States are already taking deliveries. Or the fact that we are only getting 500. However I am not, I am keeping my whining to myself, and hoping for the best. This thread however was not intended (to my understanding) to be all about markups. That's what I'm complaining about. Cheers.

Yeah, I guess most people hope for a miracle, yet the market will dictate the price and the markups.
They’re hoping for a miracle, then blaming all of us for “enabling” dealerships with markups. It’s hilarious honestly 😂

Probably because there aren't active mods that would flag it as potentially off-topic. It isn't just the whining about ADM, but also alternative cars. It all bleeds into here even though there are dedicated threads for those topics.

Anyone having trouble financing the car? Apparently the NADA for the new type r is only ~31k for some reason. I can put a bigger down payment to cover it but just wondering what you guys are seeing.
