Salesperson who lined up my FL5 CTR asked if I can pass the word out:
Just an ADM, no accessories. Car is in transit from California.
ADM is $10k but they are negotiable; ask for David Yoon

Anyone have experience with using the rodo app? They have a new Type R for less than MSRP.

So on car gurus its showing something like 220 new type r's listed. As a comparison there are about 150 elantra n's and the elantra n can be had for msrp if you spend a bit of time looking, or worst case about $1500 mark up.
Given this, why is there still such a huge markup on the new type r's?

Because dealerships that missed the boat on the $25k markup sales are delusional.

Is anyone able to get an fl5 for msrp?
There have been VERY few. I know one specific case where a repeat customer traded-in his FK8…which was obviously a nice car for the dealer to make some $$$ on, despite selling the FL5 for MSRP. That deal was beneficial for both the buyer and dealer. Otherwise…yeah, very very few have sold for MSRP that I’ve seen. The consensus is if one can get one for $5k ADM, it’s a good deal because it is a special car and nothing can really touch it for ~$50k. When you get in the $60k+ territory, that’s where other options start appearing.

Because the Type-R is a better car and in much higher demand than the Elantra N
Not to derail this thread...

Better is subjective but I had both a FK8 and Veloster N [same engine as the Elantra N] for a few years.

Fuel pump failed completely on the Veloster N in the first year; car immobilized and had to be towed Hyundai. Replacement was under warranty but had to wait a week for the part/replacement. Also, a second major recall from the NTSB the second year.

5+ years on the FK8 before I sold it, no major issues.

Rest is my opinion:
Both are great to drive but I will say the Veloster N is more fun; it's like an eager puppy, the Type-R on the other hand is like a doberman, more mature and all business. You can launch a stock VN, Type-R don't play that way.

Only YouTube influencers seem to have gotten CTRs at MSRP. ADM is a reality and isn't going away soon unfortunately.

Edit - not looking to throw shade at geese or topher, those guys are true enthusiasts and deserve theirs IMHO.

from what people have posted here, apparently it wasn't easy to get MSRP on an FK8? how accurate is that?
All i know is that i didn't even look at an FK8 until the FL5 was announced (trying to rememb... i think it was spring of 2022)... and then, the FK8s were selling USED for 38k!! So, if i couldn't even touch a used FK8 without paying that kind of money, that also influenced me to accept an ADM on the FL5.

i know lots of brands and models, which are the ones most in demand, still are not typically selling at msrp.
