“Race Car Friends” on YouTube posted a video saying there will be no FL5 for 2024, and Honda will bring it back in 2025 with some type of hybrid setup. He claims he got this info from a friend “high up with Honda”, and that this would cause the 2023 FL5’s to “double in value”.

Sorry... That doesn't make any sense... the dealers have already been told that the 2024s are coming at the end of this year -- which means they had to have been in production for a couple of months now. It's possible they may do something like that for 2025 since that yr was already projected as maybe the last year for FL5... but given that Honda had already planned this out, and has added to its ICE models with the ITS, there is no logical reason i can think of that Honda would abandon a top model early.

methinks this is either wishful thinking... or an attempt to get buyers to spend too much on a car that is now dropping in price.
Don't fall for it!

Double in value as in a $100k car? I don’t think anyone would be buying CTR at that price range

I'm not inclined to believe it either--the guy doesn't seem as credible as others, but we'll see how his theory pans out soon enough.

Don't know if this is the place to post but was about to pick up a CW in Roseville CA for $5K over. Drove 2 hours and arrived at a car with a nasty scratch in the front bumper. Looks to me like a chain went across it, through clear coat and paint.

They offered to fix but said someone else would buy the car if they just touched it up and with higher markup tomorrow.

They're probably right. Anyways, back on the search for a CW at $5K or better.

Did you ever think you would see 100K mile Integra Type R's selling for $40-50K?

I had the opportunity to buy one instead of my S2000 in 2008 for about the same price. I ultimately made the decision to get the S2000 due to concerns about theft for the ITR. They were $12-15K back then!

Theft was always the key issue.

I have theft range all the time and had crazy layers of security, but a two truck would smash all of that 🫠😂

Honda Marysville is showing a CW and BB FL5 on Autotrader, but I called and both are reportedly pre-sold--if anyone wants to wait on one in case someone backs out, it sounds like Scott may be willing to take a deposit. He said they show no other FL5's in the pipeline for their dealership, which I found a little odd.

Acura Columbus is showing a Black FL5 with 3,000 miles for $49,950 for anyone who's open to used--probably some room to negotiate. I worked with Matt Williams on my DE5 and he was easy to deal with.

It looks like a big new shipment came in on Sunday and there are a bunch more in transit. Braman Honda in Miami looks like they have 10 Type R's coming in with Sunday's update! Multiple other dealers in Miami are getting multiple cars. There is also a big dealer in LA that is getting nine in this shipment! I don't understand how one dealer can get ten cars and Kansas City has had two in like the last 4 months across it's dealers. I'm sure there is some reason, but I don't know what it is. Is it shipping costs? Anyone know?

It's not a complex equation. The number of allocations a dealership receives is largely a function of sales volume and/or sell through rate. For example, it wouldn't make sense for a dealership in Anchorage, Alaska to receive 12 allocations for FL5s in a one year period. If you live in an area that's inventory challenged, there's a fix for that... go to a different market.

Quite Simple, Florida is the single largest market for the Honda Civic in the Country(by state & districts). Half of the top 10 best selling Honda dealerships in the country are located in Florida. The amount of FL5s each market gets is determined by their Honda civic turnover rate. Kansas’ total civic turnover rate is pretty much nothing compared to Florida’s.
