release.autos.honda.com is a test site they use for software testing website changes. I wouldn't put too much stock in it. Probably highly templated.

look at the "MSRP" listed- $1,000,000

Sorry where are you seeing the MSRP at $1m? All I see is the cached info on google that the OP shared

Click the link he provided and then click on the site, hit "cancel" and it will load the page but without the password protected images.

The password prompt is to access Hondas image storage directly which is typical for a test site. They don't load *most* images from their CDN on test sites.

You can browse that site, though many things won't load. If you go to release.autos.honda.com/civic-type-r they have a link to the same 2026 page

It looks like that Honda may have planned to sell both 2025 and 2026 overlapping since the CTR sales page had both listed- but it seems the last time the civic-type-r base page was updated was when the 2026 accord was released and the links for the Accord was updated.

Next question...So who bought their 2025 model in 2026?

Carmax trade-in for my 2025 with 1k miles is $41,600. It's dropped like a rock, probably cause Honda made so many 2025s, Carmax can't sell their overpriced Type Rs. In a way it's a good thing cause if it was $47k, my wife would want me to trade it. (it's her car since I go stuck with a company car).

Carmax will always low ball you so they can turn around and list your car for $48k minimum.

Also in general the used car market is softening. Tons of cars are sitting on lots, most of the people spending high money on cars are only buying new, not used.
