Since I just did this on Wednesday the only tip I thought was helpful was to pull forward the backrest to reveal and access the sole 10mm bolt holding the lower seat cushion, then pull forward the 2 clips. Then the rest is pretty straightforward. The plastic cover is held together by 2 10mm bolts, one lower section when you remove the lower seat cushion you will see it. The other is behind the plastic cover in the middle of the cover. Once the cover is removed, just unclip the harness and remove 2 more 10mm bolts.
Question: There are three bolts that are removed - one bolt is longer than the rest. Is that the bolt for the seat bracket? I should've paid more attention when I removed.

I don’t recall a longer bolt but I would think it would be for the bottom seat cushion. The other 2 bolts on the side should be the same.

I bought a used ITS ADS from a member here. Price was reasonable so I figured why not give it a try?

As a very general assessment I’d say all modes are dialed down by about ~25% compared to the CTR’s ADS…but there’s a bit more to it than that. People have reported feeling ā€œmore planted.ā€ It’s difficult to explain, but I can understand why people say this. It just feels a bit smoother on rebound and a bit more ā€œcomposed.ā€ I think this translates to feeling more planted.

Comfort mode is definitely comfortable, though a bit floaty in some cases. I don’t think I’d recommend spirited driving with the suspension in Comfort mode. I’m sure it’s totally fine, but in this case I don’t like the lack of feedback and very noticeable loss of road feel. For highway cruising and chillaxed drives around town (on very patchy and rough roads too) I actually like it. Maybe I’m getting too old to handle being jittered and shaken too much on my way to the grocery.šŸ˜†

I also like that +R suspension now seems more usable for daily driving, but I think Sport is just about right for daily use (for me). It makes sense. I mean, the ITS module was designed for US roads and the middle setting is likely the one that most people use in their ITS’s. Not too harsh nor too soft, but of course everyone’s experience will vary. I think it’s great we have choices and the module is easy to swap. The worst part is that damn seat bolt!!!

One unexpected thing : Maybe this is unrelated, but I no longer get the ā€œbeep beepā€ when approaching redline. The lights work fine, but no more ā€œbeep beepā€ which I kind of miss. @MooMoo have you experienced this? Maybe I need to reset something? Again, I’m not sure it’s related to swapping the ADS, but my car is stock except for the ADS module swap. Lemme know!

I honestly don’t remember, I just came from the track too but usually shift right before never let it beep but I will take the car out tomorrow and let you know. Did you check the menu settings? I think the beep is a setting and might have reset?

also I agree with everything you said, sport is now spot in for me for daily driving, +R is great for track now, was unusable on track before. I actually don’t love comfort now, like you say floaty. This module has grown on me just because +R feels good now

I’m pretty sure all the bolts are the same length on my car too. Maybe Honda changed the bolt that holds the seat? That would make sense as I’m sure it helps the guys on the assembly line.

I did check my settings for the beep and it was on. Maybe it just needs to be reset or possibly I need to toggle it off then back on? I also went into the door lock settings (as I wanted to change something) and noticed some menu oddities there as well. It’s been months since I’ve even looked at that menu. On the option lines I was expecting to see ā€œonā€ or ā€œoffā€ but instead saw ā€œ>ā€ which I thought was weird. After clicking on those options, ā€œonā€ or ā€œoffā€ appeared. Maybe this is the normal behavior? I’m not sure. It seems like maybe my settings are clogged in the cache then maybe changing the ADS confused it? I need to experiment more when I get a chance…hopefully tomorrow.

Regarding shifting, I shift right as the last 2 red lights light up, maybe even a split second before. This will induce the ā€œbeepā€ without completely flat footing the throttle thru redline.

I appreciate your help!

I recently took out the ITS ADS module so I did notice the bolt for the seat is indeed longer. It was once again a bitch to put back in due to the angle.

The angle is weird. There’s no room to work. You can’t see. It’s almost all by feel! Such a pain. LOL!

Just took the car out to test if the redline beep was still there. Can confirm that it is so not sure what is going on with yours.

Thank you! I rebooted the head unit last night and messed with some settings today. The issue persists.šŸ¤”

That is so weird man. And you are sure you revved it out all the way? Like I mentioned I usually never let it go all the way to beep and usually shift when the lighters go red but as I was trying to force today lights go red and still goes for a bit before it actually beeps.

Pretty rewarding to get the beep so not surprised you want it there

@MooMoo I’ll try it again later and will make sure I’m not shifting too soon (that may easily be the case). I have a feeling I’m going to embarrass myself later.šŸ˜† Admittedly I haven’t had a lot of seat time this year (due to work and stuff)…so it’s probably my fault. I seem to recall that it beeped as soon as the last 2 red lights lit up…but I may be shifting a split second before they actually do…or like you said, I simply need to stay on it a bit longer.

And Yes! The beep is definitely rewarding to hear!

I purchased the ADS module from @TW00Si and I've been running it for about a week and half now and I generally have to agree with most points here but I'll share my opinion for those on the fence about purchasing:

First off my reason for purchasing it was not because I disliked the ride quality at all, I was actually very happy with it stock. I reserve +R mode mainly for autocross as it was a little too stiff for the road especially if you hit imperfections mid turn. I used Sport mode for spirited road driving which I felt was fantastic, its responsive planted and soaked up small road imperfections. Comfort mode was good, not too loose or too stiff. I don't generally live around rough roads (I'm in suburbs of Jersey) but if I were to go to more metro areas the ride quality certainly doesn't cope well but I don't find that to be a surprise. Seems to me this is exactly the way Honda intended the modes to be used.

I purchased the ADS module because theyre hard to get, @TW00Si was local, and I wanted to have it on hand should I install springs and then turn out to be too stiff with stock ADS. I've been running the Type S ADS for about a week and half now on stock suspension and I don't like it as much as the CTR module. Comfort mode definitely glides over the small imperfections and softens the larger bumps to a degree, which is nice for commuting. But For me it's just too soft and floaty. It feels like there is a lot more body roll just simply going around regular turns at stop lights etc. Forget driving quickly around turns. Sport mode is now no longer a true sport mode but instead a slightly less floaty setting which is just not desirable when you want to have some fun on the mountain roads. And +R can be used on the road now but why do I need +R for the road? That's what sport mode is supposed to be for. Now I don't have a setting for the track/autocross. I prefer the CTR ADS since each mode serves its purpose to a much greater degree for me but I think it really depends on your local roads and how you use the car.

Overall I think the Type S module might solve a problem for some people but for others it may reduce the CTR's edge where its needed.

FYI the module is not hard to come by anymore, easy to get now. When I ordered mine it shipped within a couple days, I think I paid $230 shipped so not a bad deal. I can find out where I ordered it from, was acura discount parts or something like that.
