Did he ever respond to you about humzas @Unity Performance car in particular? Im basing a lot of my build off of the suggestions I've gotten from him in email. Interesting that Derrick said the hpfp would be the least of it given it's the most expensive part outside of a new turbo lol.Ah, gotcha. That makes way more sense. lol
I agree, he has tuned multiple cars without an upgraded fuel system with what appears to be good results, which is why I found it interesting that he doesn't recommend actually doing that. My assumption is that people mod their cars how they want and then he does the best he can with whatever it is they have. I don't think he is turning anyone away just because they don't follow or know his preference or recommendations for parts.
I know finding someone with the Kuro and HPFP only would be a rare thing, but it would be cool if someone out there did do that. I know lots of people have the Kuro with the stock fuel system, it's just a matter of whether or not they will see this, actually have some data logs saved, and be willing to share them with me.
Also, here's a couple of examples of what he has said. One from a comment I made on someone else's post on Facebook, and one from an email directly from him when we first started talking about parts to use, what I was going to use the car for, etc. I forgot that his response was to using flex with 91 octane as that is what I am limited to here in AZ at the moment, but I doubt that would change once I move and have access to 93 again.![]()

"You can certainly use ethanol if you want, but you will operate on razor-thin margins for the maximum output available when confined to the stock fuel system... especially when your base fuel is ACN91 (which tends to require a richer mixture to avoid knock, taxing the system harder natively).
There's absolutely gains to be had from ethanol use instead of just the low quality 91; but I strongly suggest installing an upgraded high pressure fuel pump at the very least to make it worthwhile with the least headaches and highest level of reliability."
I'd honestly ask derrick if he has any logs if that's what he's suggesting.
