Anyone Want to Share Data Logs w/Kuro Turbo?

@jmheath357 I should have some data logs saved in emails I've sent to Jester. I went the route of upgrading to the Kuro turbo when having to rebuild the engine (long story). Still stock fuel system.

Yep, I saw that. I've also seen these too:

Here is one that has the stock fuel system with basically the same result.

And here is one that has the upgraded fuel system and made less.

I've looked at probably every single post of his with this turbo and dyno graphs alone don't prove anything as there are examples of both with and without a fuel system upgrade making the same basic power on straight pump. If anything, these prove that a fuel system upgrade is not necessary when running on pump 93 alone, but that's why I'm interested in seeing more data.

I've looked at probably every single post of his with this turbo and dyno graphs alone don't prove anything as there are examples of both with and without a fuel system upgrade making the same basic power on straight pump. If anything, these prove that a fuel system upgrade is not necessary when running on pump 93 alone, but that's why I'm interested in seeing more data.

I think every system is different as far as limits for one thing. Then on top of that you have what that person asks for as far as goals. The ethanol setup might have asked for a little less when not running ethanol would be my guess though.

Exactly. There are so many variables that looking at just a dyno graph doesn't tell the whole story. If that's all I was doing I would definitely not spend the money on an upgraded fuel system to just run straight pump and not add ethanol. Spending $3,500 dollars on a fuel system and hours worth of work while adding more chances for potential mechanical issues either from the install or just issues with aftermarket parts/tuning, would be really dumb just to gain at most an extra 10-15HP to maybe nothing at all. That is certainly not worth it from a power perspective, but that's not the whole story which is why I want to gather more data on the subject.

I doubt that person asked for less peak HP on 93. It was likely just the limits of that particular car, with those particular parts, on that particular day. That's just how moding and tuning cars goes.

Correct. The amount of fuel the HPFP/injectors can deliver (with an upgraded fuel system) isn't the limiting factor on 93, the octane level is. That's why it makes more power with the ethanol mix because it increases the overall octane level of the fuel and allows for much higher timing advance. But e85 has a lower energy density and requires more fuel to get to the optimal AFR which is why you need the extra fuel pump/injector capacity to use the e85 to full effect.

So are you saying you are trying to become a professional tuner now? Have you tuned cars before? What about visiting Derek's shop made you want to pursue that? Just curious if you don't mind me asking.
