I was taking my car to the car wash the other day when I popped a CEL on the way. Got home and scanned the car, and was greeted with the following three codes:
I've got a gently massaged FL5 with the following:
PRL HVI
TSP Intake coupler
PRL Ti turbo inlet pipe
PRL Charge pipe
PRL intercooler & hoses
TSP down pipe
Remark SS front pipe & Ti exhaust
I ran with this exact mod setup (except for the TSP intake coupler, added after the car was parked this past winter) all last season with no issue. Stumped. Why is the active exhaust valve suddenly popping a code (P16EB) now after a year? I searched the forums here on the B1E9A codes and got the not-comforting result of 'no results found'. Did a wider Google search and still found nothing except for some Honda-focused discussion about the location of the three components that make up the unit it's talking about, and I've done zero in these areas recently (I added an Accord auto-dimming HomeLink mirror at the beginning of last year).
I know the P0420 is typical with some down pipes, but I'm using the supposedly problem-free TSP, and it was problem-free all last year, so again, I'm stumped. Some info says it points to a possible exhaust leak.
I'm hoping I didn't get something chewing on a random wire over the winter (caught a few shrews and mice in the traps I have in my garage over the winter), or that the ozone treatment I had to do to the interior 3 years ago to overcome the swamp water smell that appeared after delivery due to the dealership's prep team hasn't impacted the electronics, but from my reading, the 30 minutes I ran the ozone generator in the car shouldn't have come anywhere near the concentration levels or exposure times that would do any damage.
