So, being 60, things aren't as easy as they once were, so spending the day messing around with the FL5 was a bit more strenuous than it should have been, but the car is quite a bit different than it was on Tuesday!
I went out early, 7am, to start: suede wheel, Type S ADS module (daily use), PRL titanium inlet pipe and HVI intake setup and....Acuity Short shift kit!
So aside from the 400 plugs under the center console, it's pretty easy tearing these things apart! And messing around taking quite a bit of large items from the engine compartment, I see how easy EVERYTHING will be down the line to mess with, unlike the TLX Type S!
1. Acuity: The shift kit was easy enough. Was worried about some people posting about 'breaking' something? in he connections, but had NO issues. I set it about 1/2 was from SUPER short to just shorter than factory for now and it's stupid awesome! Drove it around this morning and it's soooo nice!! Direct, short throw and much easier to shift fast.
2. Type S ADS: This makes the car MUCH nicer on the shit cleveland streets in the winter. My wife will be happier too. then a quick swap for track use and all is back to normal! And a super easy mod.
3. PRL titanium inlet/HVI: Another pretty easy mod. And NO you DO NOT have to remove the ECU. Just unbolt the front, loosen the rear bolt and presto! Lifts enough to get the other air inlet pipe in! Sounds a bit MORE, but not obnoxious. And looks great!
4. Suede Honda wheel: Another easy mod and SOOOOOO nice!! LOVE the suede. Always wanted one but never had it til now and it's very cool and super grippy!
Today I'll put the J's racing tie bar on and the springs are waiting on the wheels to do all of that. I did get the Paragon hats and brackets so the brakes are next as well.
But the ride to work was awesome! Between the shifter, the Throttle controller (best bang for the buck!) and.....my OMP racing gloves, that DO add at least 20 hp to the car!! WOOOOOOOO!!
Stay tuned!
