finally got the os giken lsd tuned by shaftworks. my biggest headache is massive lag after the apex. this mhi stage 2 turbo takes way longer to spool than stock and the stock turbo setup felt faster on track because the torque/boost was instant. the fwd layout is seriously struggling to put the power down out of corners, so the tires are just constantly fighting for grip. i am still waiting on my spoon thermostat, ses 3rd/4th gear, and os giken clutch to arrive.
i wonder about engine longevity on track once everything is actually installed.

Why did you get a new 3rd and 4th gear may I ask? I blew out my 4th gear in my 10th Gen si that I had. You're giving me PTSD now. 😂

My car is currently pushing over 500 whp and 400 wtq. Rumor was that our engines could handle over 500 whp but would blow if they crossed the 600 wtq mark. However, I now know owners who blew their engines after hitting 600 whp doing roll races. Additionally, others who track their cars have stripped 3rd or 4th gear at anything over 500 whp and 400 wtq. I originally planned to just upgrade the clutch and LSD, but I want to do this right the first time. Because of these weak points, I decided to upgrade the gears..

Can you go over your oil cooler setup in a bit more detail? I went through your thread here and I don't see anything like ducting etc. Really curious how you've got it setup with these awesome results you're seeing.

I originally installed an FL5 HEL 16 row oil cooler kit, but it did not cool the engine effectively. Before CSF released their dedicated kit, I decided to build a custom dual-cooler setup using two G-PLUS 25-row AN10 engine and transmission oil cooler kits with sandwich plates from Amazon.
To maximize airflow, I cut custom air ducts into the front bumper, sealed them with protective mesh grilles to block rocks, and pointed the openings directly at the coolers. Initially, I ran a single 25-row cooler, but it still could not cool the oil fast enough under heavy load. To fix this, I added a second identical cooler and plumbed both units in a parallel configuration. My mounts are definitely low budget and homemade. lol

So far, my oil cooler and its mounts have survived multiple hard track days. In extreme summer heat (98F–105F), my FL5 used to need a cool down break after just 3 to 5 laps. Now, I am one of the last drivers left on the track. My only remaining problem is that the front tires are melting.

I apprecaite the insight and the reply. I'm just learning about this chassis and hadn't seen anyone run an oil cooler that wasn't CSF or WOT. I'd like to try and do something similar with some higher flowing cores from Improved Racing to see if that minimizes the pressure drop. My car is stock at this point but after a few HPDE events I'm sure I'll be looking for oil temperature control.
