I honestly don't know! I don't know if the dealer made a mistake or because I put in my deposit when the Type R was released but I didn't question it. I've also been with this dealer for like 20 years. Got my S2000 from them. They were great. Didn't push any extras. I just added the Alcantara steering wheel and may add the red shift knob later.
I think the dealership likes you 😉

Which dealer??
Id say but I don't want to get anyone in trouble if it was a mistake. I got it for $51,300

I do know they had 5 allocations and I was #3 and the others are spoken for.

I had my deposit in day after Type R was announced, and there is still one more person ahead of me... Biggest Honda Dealer maybe in W. Canada and they've only received 3 so far. I'm fifth, so I guess next year...
I remember in the Fall 22, there were rumors of dealerships, depending on size (or whatever category Honda internally has for each) would receive anywhere from 1-9 cars over the course of the 3 years (MY23-25). Seems more likely it's actually 1-6, based on numbers so far. The dealership I had my deposit at is sitting at 3 and they're supposed to be one of the largest in terms of volume in the country.

Picked her up this morning after a long drive to Joliette Quebec:

They were super easy to work with, they threw in wheel and tire warranty and ceramic coating. I'm glad this part of the journey is finally over with, after almost 2 years of waiting. Still need to get my deposits back from the previous dealerships and that'll be addressed later next week. Now time for some FUN!

So whats the verdict? Was it worth the wait? Everything you expected?

Happy for you!!
Hells yes!

I do have some thoughts I'll post about the car, the transition coming from K20Z3, and the overall feel.

Yes, the 16 old kid in me that had an EK9 on his wall and pretty much drove all modified Type Rs in Gran Turismo couldn't be more proud!
