Awesome! I was a little late finding your order before it was ready to ship, but expect some extra goodies when your ECU arrives back home!;)

Are there further plans to improve the stock car tune to closer match some of the other options like Two-Steps and Phearable?

Are there limits in fuel pump control or emissions requirements that limit the adjustments you can make?

It seems there a lot left of the table compared to some of the other tunes gaining 60-70+hp.
Hey, @dandaman15!

Great questions!

We’re always iterating, learning, and optimizing as it comes to our OTS maps, pushing and refining the balance between performance, reliability, and compliance. The trickle-down effect influences adjustments to airflow, fueling, and factory-based component protections, which play a contributing role in HP/TQ gains. Our OTS as it is today, won't be our OTS next year, or the year after that necessarily, as we're constantly improving and rereleasing (for free, of course!).

With all that said - in general, Protune/custom maps will be more highly refined (and make more power) for an end user's specific vehicle, modifications, and mechanical limitations. We often equate it to a custom-tailored suit. Off-the-rack works great and will serve you perfectly, but a custom-tailored suit is dialed in to 10/10ths for every nuance.

If you'd like to chat more specifics, don't hesitate to reach out to our Customer Service Team at 866.922.3059 // [email protected] // or online via live chat.

Thanks for the response! Looking forward to some of the other pro-tune options and additional maps. That definitely makes it easier to part with the money knowing more and better iterations are to come.

@cobb Did your team do any ethanol testing on the FL5? Was wondering if a protune could take advantage or some E30 with the stock fuel system. Right now I use JR tuning, I'm sure he can whip something up if the platform is capable.

How much boost at sea level at standard conditions, ballpark, should you expect to see with the Cobb Stage 1 93 octane OTS tune?

Hey there!

You should expect to see between 21.5 and 23.5psi at peak boost on that OTS map!

- New to the forum here, but not new to Type R's!

We have been doing extensive testing and tuning on our shop FL5 for the past month using Cobb Software and the Cobb Accessport.

We are currently sitting at pretty much a dead even gain of 100WHP over stock with only a PRL intercooler, E30 fuel, and our custom tuning Via the Cobb AP. ( check dyno chart below).

We will continue to push what we can using this software, but so far i can say im very impressed. Especially for the short amount of time that Cobb support has been released for these cars.

on top of the things that come on the Cobb OTS maps such as Launch Control and Flat Foot Shifting , I have already figured out Ethanol tuning , upgraded fuel system tuning, Boost by gear, power levels/ boost by gear per drive mode, and a few other things.

Look for more posts in the near future, We actually have just signed up to be a Forum vendor a few minutes ago.

I used your guys for my Focus RS tune! Are you offering E30 virtual tunes the same way you do for other platforms?

Awesome results! So just the hondata canflex and that's it, no additional fuel pumps or anything?

If so, that's awesome and I can't wait to purchase the canflex from hondata. I'm getting the tuner, chipped and a custom tune from drob this weekend. The canflex will be next along with the PRL HVI and titanium inlet.

I can't wait to make this engine come to life.

The Canflex is for another software won’t be with this one. They will probably come out with their own version eventually.

So he did a locked mix tune basically. E30 blend period so to say, no flex ability.

Correct. Cobb does have plans for true flex fuel integration.

I just finished up retuning our FL5 with an XDI pump and injectors on 93 octane, i will likely be tuning it on an E50 Blend or full E85 when i get a chance

Yeah just wanted to clear it up for them. And looking forward to it. I’m currently tuning mine on ethanol also testing different mixes just using another software.
