Agree, go there any make an offer. Once word gets out that an unreserved Type R exists, it will go quickly. How close are you to the store? If you can, go in, you just might leave in it.

Agree. I was originally second on the list at my dealer but got moved up after 1 passed because he wanted white. You never know until you ask.Agree, go there any make an offer. Once word gets out that an unreserved Type R exists, it will go quickly.

Picked up my Type R this afternoon - MSRP + $5k. I had forgotten how long it takes to buy a car. Was at the dealership from 3:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. signing paper work, title stuff, changing over license plate, declining an assortment of extended (BS) warranties, etc., and I paid cash so there was no need to sit with the financing folks and waste additional time. Overall, however, it was a very positive experience, and I got to meet some fellow Honda enthusiasts. Initial impressions: lower than anticipated, larger than anticipated, red interior doesn't clash with Boost Blue as I thought it might, roomy cargo area, seats much better than expected, engine/exhaust note somewhat disappointing (too mild), engine bay crowded, paint/finish typical Honda (meh compared to European cars), interior layout greatly improved over FK8, styling more sophisticated than previous years, handling precise, brakes outstanding, acceleration responsive, and outward visibility excellent. No problems or damage reported during transport. PDI was uneventful, but detailing could have done a better job cleaning the engine bay. Also asked for DarthTrizzle about upcoming deliveries in the Jacksonville area and was given the standard Honda speak (aka "I know nothing." Thank you Sgt. Schultz). Initial mods arrived today and more tomorrow. Will wait a while on the PPF, tinting (35% all around), and ceramic. Finally, many thanks for the support and encouragement to be patient.Hang in there Bro! Apparently, things are moving again after the holidays. Like tuhroo said, it will be worth the wait. I'll post tomorrow how the PDI, etc. went, initial driving impressions, and will try to find out if they know anything about delivers in the JAX area.
Stoked for you man. Sucks mine isn't here yet but that doesn't mean I'm not happy for you guys finally getting your cars.Picked up my Type R this afternoon - MSRP + $5k. In retrospect, it was worth the wait. However, the wait would have been much easier to cope with had the dealership and/or Honda simply better communicated. The stress of not knowing is what caused so much frustration, and worse were the dealer’s missed delivery dates. It was like a roller coaster of being told it would arrive, and then it didn’t over and over. I’ve had it now for about five hours of which all but 15 minutes to eat dinner were spent in the garage poking around the engine bay, checking torques, etc. It’s an amazing piece of technology and in my opinion destined to be a classic!Congratulations! The pros and cons you stated mostly mirror everyone else’s
But was it worth the wait though?![]()
Totally agree with this. "The next few days" for the last two months. Can't really blame the dealer either. They are reliant on Honda for any updates at all.In retrospect, it was worth the wait.
