Maybe not something you are considering or want to hear but have you considered a different brand? Imo the si is too expensive for what it offers, imo lacks power. The hybrid will be boring, transmission is not great.

Id be looking at Elantra Ns which are a bit more money sure but not that much. Or maybe even gtis. On both of those if you want autos you get a dual clutch which is fantastic. Elantra you get a great power train, can keep up with a type R and even beat it, decent mod support. yes its not as good looking as si or hybrid. The GTI will be smaller but its a great car as well.

I know we are in a honda forum and I have 2 hondas but I think its good to see whats out there

Actually, I did originally have the GR86/BRZ and the Elantra N on my list with the Civic. I have personal reasons for not looking at VWs though. Long felt the BRZ/GR86 is for lack of a better word, "gutless." Didn't drive it, but after looking at the price vs options, power, etc. it was quickly dropped. After all, top 2026 models still don't have WIRELESS Android Auto/Apple Car Play. WTF? The Elantra is gorgeous, but too expensive. Although now that I've decided to go with Integras, and have to buy used to afford one with the options I want, perhaps a used Elantra N might be something to look at.

When you get better from your foot you should go drive em all. Honestly gr86/brz is an amazing car and probably the best drivers car under 45grand? The type R is amazing but nothing like a rwd sports car that is pretty lightweight. I hear you on the options though, I didn’t include it because I assume this is your daily and I would not really want a 86/brz as my daily. Back seats are useless and boy does it feel small in there.

i know people will poo poo the Elantra N but its a great car for the $$$

good luck on your search, honestly can’t go wrong with any of the cars!

If the Elantra N is what you go with the prices (even for the more expensive DCT) are pretty great. My friend was able to scoop one up last year for ~$24,000 with 40,000 miles on it

Yeah, waiting for the foot to heal is the problem. Yes, the car would be my daily, and I drive for a living. So not being able to drive is hitting me doubly hard. When I said the BRZ/GR86 was "gutless" I was referring to it's basic lack of "get up and go" when I test drove one way back in '19 when I bought my first Si. That one was totalled in '22, which is when I got the most recent one. PSA: If you ever come to San Antonio, Texas, beware of the drivers. I swear at least half got their license from a Cracker Jack box. Since the BRZ/GR86 power numbers haven't changed much, if at all, I don't imagine they'd drive any different. Obviously, I could be wrong, and according to MooMoo, sounds like I am. Idk, honestly haven't driven one since 2019. Been looking at the Elantra Ns, and they have great power. Had a couple of Velosters back in the day, and they were great, can't imagine a newer Hyundai would be worse. I think their gorgeous, but they only put sunroof in the DCT! WTF?!?!?! I'm also not sure if the Android Auto is wireless or not. I know they're minor things, but when you're gonna drop $35K on a car, you want what you want. So, I'll have to see. Still have no time table for when I'll be able to drive again. Better be soon.

Personally, I will not be caught dead in an automatic, unless it is my hearse...

Straight line acceleration is a lower priority for me. handling/suspension, driver engagement, and overall fun-to-drive are more important to me than 0-60 or 1/4 mile times

I own a CTR which I absolutely love, I've never test driven Si or Hybrid. my previous car was an 07 FA5 Si which I also loved and miss. my daughter test drove the Hybrid and loved it, yet she will probably purchase a CR-V, similar drive train, but available with AWD and a bit larger

I believe that it depends what you want out of your car. fun-do-drive etc = Si (or Type R). fuel efficiency, drag racing at every stop light or just getting from point A top point B, hatchback for more cargo space = Hybrid

The Civic hybrid does not have a CVT. it is a direct drive. It drives the front wheels via a single-speed reduction gear (fixed ratio) from the electric traction motor, while the gas engine powers a generator for electricity to the traction motor, with a lock-up clutch that engages the gas engine directly at higher speeds or for efficiency.

I believe hybrid will not be as modifiable as the Si, if at all

Also, if you want all the creature comforts of the Touring Hybrid, but want the performance and be able to modify, get an Acura Integra.
That's a good option - and people shouldn't get scared off by Acura prices - the salesman who just sold us our ADX said they sold an ITR for $5k off. We got $6k off an ADX and 1.9% financing. Brought the price down out of nosebleed levels.

Thank you all for the much needed input. Unfortunately what you may have missed, or just might not have realized is that my broken right foot from the accident is still keeping me from driving, so I can't go test drive any of the cars to see which I like best. I have however decided that I'm probably gonna need to look at Integras to get what I want. So glad they redesigned the look of the hatch for the 11th gen! Once I can drive, I'll need to see if I can deal with CVT in the event I can't find a manual. Those seem to be harder to find (shocker), especially since I now have to look at used instead of new to keep the price affordable. Integras used to be as modded as Civics (if memory serves), but then they stopped making them. Now that Acura's much more of a luxury brand are there still mods for them like CAIs, FMIs, etc.?
Any carmax near you? They're pricey but have the advantage of being able to ship cars to you.
They have 15 manual Integras.

About the Integra CVT, we have the 1.5T with CVT in our ADX. The fake engine sound is extremely annoying. In our A-Spec Advance, you can disable the engine sound in Individual mode, and the engine start stop. Just keep that in mind if you test drive, if you put it in Sport mode, the engine will sound awful. But Sport mode has much nicer throttle response, makes the ADX nicer to drive. Again Individual mode lets you adjust the throttle response without turning on the fake sound. Or just disable it, probably just have to pull a fuse.

I've looked at CarMax for Integras, and as always, they're overpriced. If they would haggle at all, I might be more inclined to deal with them. I bought the one that just got totaled there. I was a much less informed buyer then, but it was still a good deal considering the market at the time, and the time crunch that I was under. I'm assuming that those $5 and $6K off were new vehicles? Were those also discounts off of MSRP? I'd love a brand new Integra. If I could get $5K off MSRP, I might be able to afford it...especially with 1.9% financing, or close to it. I've decided against the Hybrid. Modding is way too important. I'm basically with Zumbooruk as far as manuals go. Not sure if they realize if they're in their hearse, they are being caught dead, but that's neither here nor there, lol. I will try a CVT before I make final decision, but I'm pretty sure that I'm gonna go manual. I haven't looked into the Egine Stop/Start on the Integras, but my KTuner will fix that issue. I'd imagine it should fix the engine noise issue as it allowed me to adjust throttle response for my Si. I don't see why it wouldn't for the Integra. I wouldn't want to pull a fuse to fix it because I wouldn't be at all surprised to learn that there's more than the engine sound on that circut. I don't remeber what it is, but there's a way to physically unplug the adaptive sound in the Si. I never did, but if it annoys me in the Integra, I'm sure I could always do that too. I'm still considering the Elantra N too. It's missing a couple of the options that the Integra has like a sunroof, HUD, and ultra-premium sound, but it does have way more power, and appears to be more a "track" car. At least compared to the A-Spec w/Tech. I still need to find out if the '25s have WIRELESS Android Auto or not. Their website and AI chatbot were unclear when I looked last night. If they do, it's a strong consideration. They still have several BRAND NEW 2025 Elantra Ns within a couple hundred miles of me. One dealer has like four. If they still do when I can drive again, I'm sure I could get a fantastic deal on one.

I think the Integra is getting the same $3k discount off MSRP as our ADX, but the ADX also had $3k in factory incentives and 1.9% interest, cause it's probably unpopular. Sorry shouldn't have got your hopes up. But I'd still try to buy new when buying Honda/Acura, you can get decent discounts and you save very little buying used.

I hate drunks. I find pride is catching them and seeing them answer for their crime. Wishing you the best on your path to recovery. Best of luck picking a new car as well.

Thank you very much! While I've decided on the Integra, I could still use a great price on one. Let's hope I'm able to achieve that!

Any civic or Integra with the 9“ infotainment screen (standard is 7“) will have wireless Android Auto. Civic tourings and acura tech packages has the 9“.

Yes, I know. That's one of the reasons I've chosen the Integra over the Elantra.
