Shameless plug for OG Racing. They are a sponsor of our race series and are good people. Usually competitive pricing on all things safety related. Your video has seriously got me thinking about going there to pick up the Simpson and selling my Hans.
They are indeed a good vendor. I’ve bought many thing from them, including my HANS device. One of my few bookmarks for car shopping.

I can use a new shirt. I had previously purchased a size Medium but I think I need a large. It’s not fitting well around the arms and chest.

My wife has asked me if I’m going to get track insurance when I take the CTR out now. Something to think about.
It's your money, car, and conscience but there's nothing to think about. You get track insurance every single time.

Just watched your video last night.

Great track - very well driven - super fast.

Hope you're not beating yourself up too badly - nobody learned anything by doing easy things.

I'll take a t-shirt if you can arrange delivery to Scotland

First of all - glad you are alive and safe. That is a scary place to go off. I have actually been off twice there as an instructor with a student driving (throttle lift induced oversteer). Just dumb lucky we avoided the ditch on those agricultural expeditions.

Also glad you are sticking with the FL5 platform as I am learning a lot from your engineering efforts :)

I did notice in the video as it started to come around it sounded almost like the car was hopping some like the tires were gaining and losing traction Vs one long squeel. Was that the vehicle stability system trying to get it under control or something else you think?

I saw the same thing with the hopping. I'm not 100% sure. It was a really breezy day on Sunday. A lot of people were putting down their tents to keep them from blowing away, so not sure if that was a factor, but the suspension in R mode is also really stiff. I wonder as well if the spoiler was trying to do it's job, and applying downforce at the same time that the tires were trying to break loose. I don't think the stability system was at work at all since I had disabled it prior to going out on track.

I had a 60k policy on the car. The deductibles are high. You have to select either 10% or 15%. Unfortunately in my case this won't be enough to cover all of the parts.

I've been searching for a replacement car. I want a black one. First dealer tried to hit me with the 10k markup...I declined.
Look at dealers in Florida. Apparently it's the only place that you can get msrp.
Especially if you are only a half day away drive.

When car and driver did their annual lightning lap, they said they turned the best times with the suspension on Sport and not Type R as it was way too stiff and bouncy. I wonder if this caused too much movement in the back?

If I recall the wing makes about 200lb of downforce at 125mph. Not bad but not earth shattering either.

Ben, did you have the ITS ADS module installed in your car? I have it and it makes +R (and other modes) a helluva lot less bouncy. Probably more suitable for less than smooth tracks.

I have the ITS module currently installed for daily driving. I may put back the CTR module as the venue I autocross at has nice smooth surfaces.

That said, I don't know what to expect when I go to the first event of the season. I've autocrossed only STIs for 7 years. Traction was a given. This car is something else, breaking traction when laying it down. I actually have to be judicious with the throttle. What a concept!

It shouldn't give you too much trouble. AWD and FWD behave fairly similarly.
