PRL RMM or Wunderladen RMM

I just drove my friend's FL5 with the PRL RMM installed this past weekend. I have the Wunderladen RMM myself. Personally, I think both add a little NVH when the car is idling with the AC on and both are imperceptible when the car is moving. I've only driven both on the street, but they both seem to remove the hopping when you're accelerating hard.

Interesting. The general consensus on this forum from all my research is that Wunderladen and Cobb both have similar performance to PRL with less NVH. All 3 of these are solid options though.

I only really tell when the A/C is on and the car is fully warmed up and I am sitting (usually in the car rider pickup line at school).

I just went from PRL to Cobb last week. Aside from me thinking things were more smooth driving after... The only difference I feel is in idling NVH when at a long light or the school line picking up my kid. There's a bit less NVH in that case.

Otherwise honestly It was nearly the same. I don't know if the smoothness came from a tire rotation, and oil change at the same time, or it was placebo.

The NVH change is there, but my PRL was run about 5000 miles, the Cobb is brand new, and only has 175-200 miles so far.

Not knowing much when I purchased, I decided to get the PRL RMM because it is the only one using EDPM rubber.

At the time it seemed to me that the EDPM rubber would be better than polyurethane.

EDPM supposedly has less NVH, more heat tolerance, more durable, does not degrade as fast and therefore does not require a bushing "refresh".

Now, I am not so sure, yet after 10K miles, I am still very satisfied with the PRL RMM and not planning to swap at this time.

I've used PRL, Wunderladen, and Cobb. I like the Wunderladen and Cobb the most.

I will say, when I had the PRL, after while it seemed like the bushings got softer and didn't seem to work as well. Also to me it seemed to have the most NVH.

I moved to the Wunderladen and it had a low amount of NVH, less than the PRL, probably due to the staggered bushings durometers. Worked well to eliminate wheel hop and engine movement.

I switched up to the Cobb RMM just to try it and still using it currently. It has no wheel hop and engine movement while having little to no NVH, its almost like riding round with the OEM RMM even with the AC on at idle.

Now if you are able to, I would recommend the Cobb, unfortunately its almost always backordered and takes weeks to get sometimes. I would then recommend the Wunderladen mount, decent price out of all 3 and it just works, no real negatives about it besides it has a little more NVH than the Cobb. The PRL mount, they raised the price since I last bought it from $180 to $250 USD. Its $70 less for Wunderladen and $50 less for Cobb.

Thanks a lot for this information. They were the only concerns I have heard about the PRL mounts. I will look into COBB but at this point I'll probably just order the Wunderladen RMM and cop the shipping fee to Australia lol

Either, since they're too close to say one is better than the other. You get a slightly more compliant mount if you go with COBB, trading off a bit of perfrmance compared to Wunderladen, but that's also minor.

I will go back and forth between both over time. I have the Wunderladen PMM as well now, and the TMM will be installed in the next two or so weeks.

In all honesty though, the car is still as mild as it can be given all the mods. I daily drive it and the Mrs. doesn't hate it - in fact she's encouraged that we take it out a few times recently. We went into downtown Toronto on Sunday to check out a car show. Downtown is notorious for bad roads, so I was worried about the lip and how choppy the ride could be - glad to report that the whole drive in was pleasant, and I cruised around the city streets in gears 1-2 with relative ease. Dropped her off to see a friend, then had a little daddy-daughter date with my 1-year-old, took some shots of the car, and just drove around admiring the graffiti, shops, and downtown vibe
