Spoon Sports Springs Installed on FL5 w/ 25mm R + 20mm F Spacers

Ride Height: As mentioned above, I didn't want to slam the car down with the Fenders touching the top of the tires look, just give it a slightly lower stance without straying too far away from the OEM ride quality. Based on my sight and included pictures, these springs do just that. It definitely has a more aggressive, lower stance, but doesn't slam you on the ground making you drive extra cautious not to scrape/bottom out everywhere. These are the latest Spoon Sports version springs with the black insulators on them. Supposedly they fixed the rear end squat look with these versions (the springs with the blue insulators are the earlier versions). About a finger and a half wheel gap which I'm totally fine with - More aggressive stance all while improving the ride quality - hard to believe but its true.

Mind measuring your new ride height? Like on level ground measure the highest point of the front wheel arch to the ground. Though probably be better to let the setup settle a bit too get the final drop.

Though it's weird that you say that regarding the color of the isolators. I have a set of springs still in the box here I bought a year ago with black isolators. Wonder if they're just talking about those slapping the FK8 version onto the FL5 before Spoon officially released anything.

@arcticdc5 Now that your springs have settled I’d love to get any follow-on impressions and some more pics from the side. Any reverse rake showing or are the fender gaps even? In your first photos it looks like the rear is sitting ever so slightly lower, but that could have just been the camera angle.

Just ordered myself a set of these, seen a few videos of installs. Some cut the bump stops and others don‘t so a bit confused.

The Spoon instructions instruct you to trim the bump-stops. If the engineers indicated to do so, there's a valid reason for this. Would suck to take everything back apart if you keep tapping the bump-stops from initially not trimming the bump-stops.

The measurements from the ground to the top of the fender are as follows:
Front Left - 25 9/16"
Rear Left - 25 1/2"
Front Right - 25 9/16"
Rear Right - 25 9/16"

Regarding the spring versions, someone on here made the claim those that came out around December '23 are the revised springs as he was on the process of developing a rear spacer to accommodate for the initial sag. Now he claims these spacers are no longer needed.

Impressions after ~6 weeks since installation: Springs ride incredible and are much smoother than the OEM springs in comfort mode. I would not hesitate to install these again if I had to do it all over again. Albeit I can't compare to other springs brands such as Swift, Eibach, H&R - I wanted to avoid re-doing a spring install due to harsh ride quality or it was too low to drive on public streets. The end of my driveway has a slight incline at the apron (~20 degrees) and if I go straight down, it'll barely scrape, so I have to hit that at an angle. That's the only drawback to these springs that I can see. Car has great stance with the factory wheel gap gone and it's not an extreme drop where it gives the tires touching the fender look (I'm 45 so my car mod tastes have gotten more conservative you could say).

If you are on the fence about these springs - just do it! Unless you are looking for a slammed look - these are not for you as Swift or Eibach would be your best bet.

Does anyone know if the FL5 springs fit the FE1 SI? I'm sure they would, and the spring rates for the FL5 kit seems way better than the FE1 kit. I just want to confirm before I drop hundreds on springs.

Might be a good question for the spring company to answer as I don't have an idea if the spring seats & diameters are the same between SI and Type-R. If you can get me the diameter dimension of your front and rear springs, I can measure my FL5 OEM springs.

Does anyone here have the J’s springs? I’m considering J’s Racing. Although I’m not the biggest fan of the in front being much lower than the rear, not sure why they did that.

Zero issues with the spacers. No rubbing whatsoever either on fender edges or inside fender liners. I am so glad I went with 20mm + 25mm as I think its the perfect fitment.

Have these measurements changed at all since install? You’re still basically at 25 9/16” all the way around with tires at factory psi?

@arcticdc5 - Assuming you trimmed the bump-stops with the SPOON spring install ? Do they give pretty clear instructions (diagram) where to trim them down ? I really don't want a harsher ride nor bobble head dampening. Is the car really comparable to the ride when in COMFORT ? I just really like the way the car rides stock and don't want to F it up. Car looks spicy !
