I have had this since new—agree that unless there is a TSB, I’m not taking it in…

My integra has been doing this for a couple months. Started 1 week after the dealer performed oil change. I'm not saying they caused it because I dont know of how they could but the timing couldnt have been more inconvenient. I'll be watching this thread for info before I end up taking my car in.

Just picked up a new Type R and have the same issue. Anyone ever come up with a definitive fix?

Hate to have the dealer start ripping it apart without some direction of what the problem is…

hey guys, i just bought a used fl5 and would like to know if this is the noise you guys are hearing? thank you

Mine is more like the OPs post but less frequent. It’s a single metallic ping at times and others, it’s a few creaks/clicks together.

I also have the noise. Coincidental or not, it started after being serviced by them just like someone else here said. Regardless, it is annoying me. As someone else said, if you move around the center of steering it may make the noise less, or more. I am trying to ignore it but then I get annoyed. it is a faint click sound that is in series; meaning it is not just a one click but about 7 continuous and only happens when taking turns.

I have this too. Started after I had my dealer install the Alcantara steering wheel. Glad I’m not alone. It’s so annoying to me. Hopefully someone finds a permanent fix.

I took mine into the dealer and they replaced the airbag module. I was told the issue was resolved so I came to pick it up and of course, the clicking returned on the way home.

Hopefully a fix and service bulletin is released eventually.

Yeah, sounds like some cut throat accidents about to happen if not. Anything airbag should not be clicking and having springs replaced.

Mine does it too now but only when I turn the wheel almost at lock and only once in a while. I thought I did something when I installed the alcantara wheel so I poked around. Definitely the airbag cuz you can make it do the clicking when you move the airbag around. I will wait for a fix but I highly doubt its a safety issue. Then again mine only does it if I am backing out of a spot and really need to turn the wheel at lock, if it did at every move of the wheel it would probably annoy me.

I just bought a used 24 and it started happening. I just got back from the dealership and they basically said that I should wait to see if it stops itself between now and the next oil change. Mine does it both left and right turns

I went to the dealer. They told me they tested 3 other civics; two from 2022 and the other from 2023 and they all made the same noise. Therefore they concluded this is just the way it is.

My car didn’t make the noise until the dealer swapped my steering wheel. I had driven the car for 6 months with no issues up to that point. I don’t think this is “normal”. I’m going to have my dealer take a look next time it needs service. Hopefully someone can diagnose the issue.

I was able to hear the noise in the video posted at beginning of this topic. That is exactly the sound I have. I also doubt it is malfunctioning because other than the noise the steering is flawless. I hit the horn all around two days ago. Pressed it good. Currently the noise is almost gone since then.

Anyone know if the noise goes away with an aftermarket wheel, like momo or spoon ?
