The FL5 Dealer ADM Markup Thread

Deleted member 42932

I wish I could adopt your mindset, I would be flustered from wasting a 2-hour roundtrip for nothing.

Maybe I'm just jaded from all these scummy dealers.
It takes energy to hold grudges. My energy is better spent elsewhere. Also, I received a survey call from that dealership the next day. I told them that I was not happy with my experience. The person on the phone listened and apologized. Regardless, I do my best not to waste my thoughts, energy, and time on things that ultimately do not matter.

I completely understand your frustrations.

We gotta be friends when we get our FL5's.

I'm also in SD!

First time posting on here, but I have recently called nearly every dealer in New England who has/had a car in transit as listed on the motoringobsession.com website. Very very few were doing $5k over MSRP, but there are some.

I lucked out finally and managed to snag one from a dealer close to me at $5k over MSRP with no other addons. It comes out to around $54k OTD. I've only put down a deposit, and the vehicle is still in transit. It will probably arrive first week of August, so we'll see if any shenanigans happen at the signing.
Congrats man! I was seeing you all over the website posting updates in the northeast haha. I was in a similar boat as you and finally found one close to me in SGP. Same ETA as you too. Dealer told me it’s stateside now. What state did you end up finding it in/what color?

Haha, I was half adding info to the site just to keep track of who I had contacted and what they told me, but also hope it helps others get a car at the price they're comfortable with.

Congrats on getting one for $5k over as well! Mine is also a SGP from Cambridge Honda in MA. I called them yesterday and they said it just came off a boat in Richmond, CA yesterday morning.

Same here, much easier to keep track of it there. Mine’s from Saratoga Honda in upstate NY. Maybe ours came on the same boat over here 😂

Honda frisco called me offering it’s white CTR for 5k over for anyone in the north Texas area.

I picked up the CW one from Saratoga last Saturday. I worked with Chase. I was in and out in 1 hour and they were really great about my preferences for delivery. My price was also 5k over. Congrats on your allocation man!

Awesome! I’m working with Dave. Bought a Honda from them before and they’re probably the best in the Capital Region. They said this was their third one they got. Mentioned how they really wanna keep them local too.

Good to hear about the preferences, I’ve got a list to tell them but I’m sure they’re similar to yours - keep the factory wrap, no front plate, etc. Guess they won’t be too surprised about it now.

For all CNY/NE folk - Some leads.

Before I scooped up my deal at Saratoga Honda, I had a deposit at Ide Honda for a CW in Rochester for $5k over. VIN assigned, but ETA unknown. Ask for Melinda Pagliuso.

Schaller Honda in Connecticut had a CW for $6k over. Ask for Fred.

Don’t know if they’re still available, but worth a shot.

They weren’t surprised at all or have any problems with it. They said the CTR before me asked for the same treatment. They took off the coil over shipping blocks on the springs too. Heads up - factory wrap leave a small amount of residue after you peel it off.

Great to hear they know their stuff. I’m trying to plan to drive it right to a detailing shop to get a front PPF so I’ll have them deal with that.

I've only seen proof of one MSRP deal and it was on IG. The individual shared the sales contract from Honda of Marysville in OH. Anyhow, here is my sales contract from Western Honda in Garden City, KS. I paid MSRP and a dealer doc fee of $199. This price represents the first of two price hikes from Honda since the FL5 was launched last year.

That, to me, is MSRP. Doc fees I kind of figure as completely unavoidable, and 199 is as low as I've seen anyway. Killer deal; the CTR can't be beat if had at MSRP. No better bargain out there in the enthusiast landscape IMO.

That said, I could NOT get that deal, but I did find one at $5k over. I passed. But I was SO CLOSE...

I ended up getting lucky with timing by texting my local Acura dealer that I've been maintaining contact with this morning and they had a surprise allocation come in just the past couple days for an ITS that is currently in transit. I headed over there this afternoon and walked out with a deal secured at MSRP, plus a few accessories and add-ons that I selected. Car arrives in two weeks.
