Yep, have one - doesn't work with the Overland boot unless you want it to bunch. The collar is also smaller in diameter than the OEM one, I had this knob made with the OEM piece in mind. I saw on FB a guy who had painted his and it looked great.
I asked Overland to make me a custom boot that fit the Acuity collar. I just had one of the collars shipped directly to them because the bunching annoyed me with the first one I had. It looks great now! Makes sense though if you're new knob is designed to fit w/ the OEM one... paint should do.
I had this exact same problem with my Overland boot and my Acuity collar, glad to hear it wasnt just me. I ordered a spare ITS alcantara boot (afaik it's the exact same as the JDM alcantara boot but with the NA orientation) so we'll see how that goes.
Yeah, I only saw later that there was a note on the website saying it won't work with Acuity - I did email Overland and suggest they offer that option. I thought about asking if I could send my trim ring in but figured that meant buying another boot, yadda yadda.
I had Acuity collar as well. I put electrical tape around it, and it pretty much fixed it. Super annoying tho. Went with the Overland console and switched the Hybrid Chicane knob. Now with the custom knob I'm committed to the OEM ring so I just need to paint it or eventually find one off a FK8. I did use the Acuity piece to replace the boot in my wife's Si so it's not one of my many automotive paperweights
How did you apply the electrical tape? Around the center of the collar to thicken it up? I might need to try this with my Overland boot and Acuity collar...
Yeah just wrapped electrical tape around the center several times. It was almost perfect, but still had one little wrinkle.
