So, I just installed my Hybrid shifter in my FL5. I immediately felt the crisp, distinct shifts into 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. BUT then came the 5th gear. I traveled past the 5th gear "notch" (for lack of a better description), and I hit a brick wall. Nothing. Went back to neutral and tried to go straight into 5th, brick wall. So moderately confused, I went back to neutral, and SLOWLY crept right, and then I felt the "notch" and moved the shifter forward. Click, there it was! Pulled straight down, there was 6th. Pushed all the way right and down, reverse.
So why did I take the time to write all that out? Well, does anyone think that there should be more pressure needed to move the shifter to the right past 5th/6th? I personally feel that the stock shifter had this correct. I literally just installed the shifter, and it was an immediate observation. Perhaps this corrects itself when the vehicle is in motion? Reverse lockout comes to mind, but I assume that is only going to prevent going from 5th into reverse. But my concern is going too far right and missing the shift from 4th into 5th.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is this normal with the FL5? Is there something wrong with my Hybrid shifter?
Let me know your thoughts. I know I am dumb, be gentle.
Thanks
