As a follow-up, here’s what the box label and Bucci inner label looks like on mine (bought in 2023 direct from a Honda dealership in Missouri). Apparently mine was produced in 2022. Regarding the Honda sticker on the wing, it’s a white sticker (with black print) and clear blue protective tape over it. I remember that distinctly, because I decided to remove the blue tape from mine. Hope this helps! Am I weird for keeping all this stuff? Hahaha!

Thanks for checking! I assume yours doesn't have those huge gaps in the weave on the rear-facing corners.

The labels do seem to indicate that mine is legit, so maybe giuseppe really didn't get his espresso that morning 🤣

Like I said before, I no longer own it. I sold my car about 6 weeks ago (it was time for an S2000), but I have a very clear memory of how it looked. I admired it and cleaned/polished it all the time for nearly 3 years.😅

Giuseppe be slackin’ on yours.🤣

Ah, OK. I've been wanting to buy an S2000 and restore it for a while but don't have the garage space and money for that project quite yet.

Yeah. Not to derail the thread, but the opportunity to get a beautiful, impeccably maintained, AP1 came along. I couldn’t resist. It’s one of those cars I’ve wanted/needed to experience for the last 20+ years, but the timing wasn’t right to get a strictly fun car (and I don’t have the garage space to keep more than 1 fun car). Glad I had my FL5, though, or I would’ve always wondered about it too. I like to stay plugged into this forum as the community is great and I still really like the FL5. It’s cool to see how people are getting on with them and modding them.

Good luck getting your wing exchanged. Surely the place you got yours from can and will do that for you, especially as it is defective. I would definitely use that term too.

Update: Alldiscountparts got back to me really quickly with a return shipping label. They're going to order a new spoiler from Honda and inspect it before sending. Hopefully that solves the problem, since the one I have seems to be a weird outlier.

Definitely keep us updated. I've been concerned about the manufacturer change and hope the new stock isn't a problem either. All Discount Parts is a great dealer and glad they are taking care of you.
Can confirm the supplier change has not had a noticable negative effect on quality. Had a former client reach out to me for one and I put him in contact with my dealer people and he was totally satisfied with the quality

Why was the original manufacturer changed? Was it pricing or quality issues? If it's quality issues then I guess we just saw why it's no longer made in Italy.
I believe the previous manufacturer that was making them in Italy had to shutdown from flooding due to rain storms a couple years ago.

My OEM one is perfect and recent....the original post images look like replica's to be of low quality. Good luck.

I don't think its a replica, specially if it came from All Discount Parts.

Just bad QC. Happens and its from Italy, you just got one that was made on a Friday after lunch, they just wanted to go home.

Mine the clear coat is not great, from the original batch though I think its number 37 or something. I got it used for a good deal though so I don't car, looks great unless you are shinning a light at it.

The OP one is really bad though. But why I always say, people are obsessed with getting this part from Italy and were upset they were maybe switching to Taiwan but Taiwan makes amazing carbon, one of the leading carbon makers I am pretty sure

I'll post updates as I get them. Last I heard from ADP they ordered another one and it should arrive at their dealership on Tuesday.

At this point neither do I. The box, labeling and tags all look authentic to me. I had a theory for bit that somebody bought one and decided to screw over the dealership by returning a cheap knockoff while keeping the OEM one, but the tag on the spoiler itself appears to be authentic with no signs of being removed and reapplied, based on info from others in this thread.

I think the new production location is in Vietnam? Somebody correct me on that if I'm wrong. Doesn't matter to me as long as I get what I paid for. As long as the clear isn't scratched more than i can lightly polish out with Griot's perfecting cream I'm good. It's going to get a coating of zurich premier (yes yes I know, dealer's special, not a 100% pure ceramic coat, etc, but I actually like it and it's much more durable than you'd think. and the dealer gave me a gallon for free) to get more gloss and UV protection.

What does it say on the label? should say where its made.

What I read a few times is that they are still being made in italy.

You shoiuld really ceramic coat it, actually pretty easy, would take 30 min

I don't have the new one yet so I have no clue where that one will have come from. Could be Italy as well for all I know if Honda still has them in their warehouse.

I'm about to reapply the zurich to the whole car anyway since it's showing signs that it needs to be reapplied (it lasted about 3 years) so it seems easier to do everything at once, but I might do true ceramic on the spoiler separately. Eventually I want to ceramic coat the whole car, but getting the fully cured zurich off is a pain in the a** and so far it's done just as good a job as a true ceramic coating. Maybe when I feel like paying somebody to strip it off, paint correct, and ceramic coat it.
