New infotainment update, 77CA-0079-121 -RT60CS1 - R1

New update popped up on my infotainment today. Came up when I hit the software update button and connected to wifi.
Some bug fixes for the system, CarPlay, and LogR.


Full change log

• Blank screen appears after ignition is turned on.
• Navigation map may not be displayed.
• Navigation route guidance cannot be set using voice commands.
• Display freezes while using Google Meet through CarPlay
• Clock time changes automatically after disconnecting wireless CarPlay.
• Honda LogR
• This update also resolves the following items for the LogR application:
• Lap times cannot be measured using the LogR
• AutoScore mode measurement stops after connecting to CarPlay.

However, it seems that the Honda USB update site is lagging, I'll check again in a few days.

My TPS Report Unit is also on indefinite hiatus, so no auto-updates for me, either.

Any word on what these bug fixes are?
"System", meaning... ECU?, stereo?, AC fan power?

Also, I haven't really used Log R yet. Am interested in what is bugged there and what may have been fixed.

The main stereo "bug fix" I would love to see, but guarantee we won't, is:
(How do I explain this in English?) ...

When I listen to one Source (AM, FM, Bluetooth) and switch to another source, say drom AM to FM, I have to be mindful to turn down the AM volume to something reasonable, say Volume level 10, before I switch over to FM, and same again when switching from FM to another source, and same with switching to and from Bluetooth. I wish that the Volume level was matched, regardless of the source.
I have made the mistake of jammin out on the FM dial with the Volume up around 22, switch to AM while driving, turn up the AM volume to hear some talk radio, and then turn down the AM volume to 10 when getting home and parking the car. Next day, start up the car, switch over to FM, and BLAAAOOOWWW!!! Volume at 22 nearly blows out my ears in a parked car.
So, that's obnoxoius.

On the other hand, different sources have different strenghts in frequencies, and I listen to different sources for different purposes.
AM for talk, FM and Bluetooth for music.
I am constantly having to tune the EQ differently for each different source.

For AM talk radio I set Treble +1, Mids -1, Bass -3.
For FM EQ, Treble, Mids, and Bass all remain at +/-0.
Since my MP3s are generally kind of tinny sounding,
Bluetooth is set Treble -1, Mids +/-0, and Bass +1.

I would LOVE for the EQ settings to be able to remain set unique to each source, and for Volume settings to apply fixed across all sources at the same time.

I just don't get how something so logical in our "Premium Bose" sound systems was missed, and instead was seemingly reversed 180 degrees.

My understanding that any updates to the "system" are limited to the infotainment system itself, which is a customized Honda-specific built of the Android 13 system, and the apps running on it (Navigation, LogR, etc).

BTW, I permanently disabled Navigation, since I am not using it, and it causes stability issues with the system.

No other vehicle system such ECU, AC, etc. are affected by the updates to the infotainment system.

I don't believe that I've ever turned on the radio nor have any stations memorized.

I want nothing to distract me from SA (situational awareness)

I like to listen to the morons driving around me. tire squeals, horns, even their engine sounds (so I am aware if anyone might be getting too close)

Ha! That's the second Blazing Saddles reference I've heard this week! Must be a sign.

I've had this movie for years as part of a Mel Brooks Blu-Ray box set I bought back in 2018, yet still have never seen it. Spaceballs plenty of times. Blazing Saddles, not yet.
Time to finally pop the Blu-Ray into the ole PS4 Pro and watch Blazing Saddles tonight.

Then, no doubt, I'll get the reference.
And while I may not drive in complete silence every drive, maybe I'll bump down the volume a bit to 15 instead of keeping it at my standard 18 to 20. There are certainly some distracted drivers out there on the daily.

Instead of big fixes id like optimization for the unit as a whole. I turned off navigation for a while and it was great, but Google maps also started not working. Had to turn it back on when I went to visit family a few hours away.
