That, to me, is MSRP. Doc fees I kind of figure as completely unavoidable, and 199 is as low as I've seen anyway. Killer deal; the CTR can't be beat if had at MSRP. No better bargain out there in the enthusiast landscape IMO.

That said, I could NOT get that deal, but I did find one at $5k over. I passed. But I was SO CLOSE...

I ended up getting lucky with timing by texting my local Acura dealer that I've been maintaining contact with this morning and they had a surprise allocation come in just the past couple days for an ITS that is currently in transit. I headed over there this afternoon and walked out with a deal secured at MSRP, plus a few accessories and add-ons that I selected. Car arrives in two weeks.
I agree, it is MSRP. You can score a deal at MSRP, it would just take a lot of work and you would need to wait a while.

Congrats on securing the ITS! I'm sure you're relieved the hunt is over.

I'm pretty sure you're the same Clark_Kent from rennlist that I recall from my hunt for my arctic grey 718 since over a year ago. This has been an ordeal, from deciding to move on from that car to finding a car that "works" for me... relief doesn't begin to describe it.

That said, I'll probably be going through all of it all over again in about 4 years. Excited to be taking that time off from hunting for cars.

Yes sir, that's me. I completely understand. The hunt for the GT4 last year was soul-sucking. Once the music stopped, I didn't want to be the one without a car. And here we are in 2023 and the GT4 allocations have dried up. I'm glad it all worked out in the end. Don't be a stranger over here. Post pics when you get the ITS.

brandon honda in tampa has a CW with badge 8xxx (can’t remember bc was expecting to not make the deal work) for about 15k adm - they have ā€œprotections packageā€ for 5k and 10k ā€œadmā€

it’s the ā€œcoke to the dealer and show you’re seriousā€ and ā€œyou have a 2018 type r and that is your negotiation leverageā€

well i told them where i want to be and a quote from another dealer for 5k adm

they feel their CW and the next CW coming to this dealer are ā€œmarket valueā€ for their CTR. oh, there are 2 other CW within 30 min

wesley chapel honda in florida quoted me 7.5k adm thru truecar

when i called, sakes guy said adm was 10k

then he mis-read the the truecar quote and saw an approx 4k due at signing - which was tax/title - and thought the car would be 12k adm plus tax/title

truecar hasn’t called me back, as i have escalated these cases, but it appears they won’t be any help either

A dealership in the Atlanta Georgia area has a championship white coming in. MSRP + $5000 ADM + $1144 accessory package that they put on every car on their lot. So yes, there is a markup, but it seems to be less than what everyone else is seeing. Call Joe Headley at 404-784-1150 and tell him David sent you.
I spoke with Joe today. The car is still for sale. I know that some people called to get this deal, and were jerked around by them not honoring the deal. I know they left the car on the showroom floor and said they were accepting offers. Well, apparently no one wanted to put up with their garbage and the car is still there. I know they pissed off a number of potential customers.

As of this morning, Joe assures me that they will now accept a deal if someone wants it. No more taking offers. I really thought that I should just be done trying to help him out, but IF he is being honest with me, I am hoping that I can help out someone on here looking for a car.

I'm seeing a growing number of dealers with multiple CTRs on their lot. Supply constraints are clearly easing and cars are sitting as more customers decline paying $10k+ ADM. If you have 30-60 days, I'd wait. My bet is $5k over will be the standard ask well before the end of the year, and MSRP + reasonable accessories being the 'realistic good deal'.

I would have bought this car had they not been messing around. I ended up being slightly petty about the whole thing šŸ˜…

Same here. I was about to purchase at Sons Honda. However the tactics of moving the goal post put a bad taste in my mouth.

Nope. Im fine waiting for next year. I might concede 1-3k ADM but absolutely no added accessories if there is ADM. They cant have both.
