It seems like the first batch produced is the exhaust that has the midpipe resonator, so that’s what’s available. And they recommend an exhaust without the resonator for being louder with stock DP.

I’m betting you can get the resonated exhaust available now and mate it to stock DP.

I think its genius... All the people were ready to throw money on a pre order even without anyone actually ever having it. If you want it first then plop down money for the full system.

But also maybe a QC thing as Svvitch said

I’m in the same boat. I want to keep things as stock as possible so I just want the catback version. Not sure if I should get the resonated or non-resonated version though.

@Vlad@27WON or @Vincent@27WON any chance we could get some sound comparison clips?
Depends on what downpipe you're pairing it with. With the OE DP, I would gravitate towards the non-resonated option. It's not loud enough for my liking using resonated on a OE downpipe, but other people may disagree...

Unbelievable that they made a system that doesn't pair/mate with all downpipe options. Ridiculous if you ask me. SMH
It will pair with all Downpipes. Not sure where you saw it won't. It's just a matter of when certain options come online.

I have a feeling it's a QC method. Too much variation so to guarantee a good initial product they said it'll work with their own products. That way they have some control over the first installs. I don't have a downpipe so this looks appealing to me.
I gotta say, sometimes these forums surprise me (in a good way!)

I bet you are right. They are using the exhaust to sell their downpipes. Everyone wants an RV6 or TSP downpipe, so this makes good business sense. Smart man
This is not the reason. We've never limited our products to work or not work with certain brands on purpose and I can't see us ever doing that honestly.

I know why customers buy the TSP downpipe. I don't know why they would buy RV6....

thanks for the response. I sent you guys an email earlier. So can I just order the turbo back system and not install the downpipe? Definitely want the resonated system to run with stock downpipe.

I bought RV6 downpipe because they don't make a bad product. Everything I have from them is very high quality. Ben Wong was answering my questions before I was even a customer.
I'm not a fan of PRL and wouldn't ever buy there stuff so for a lot of reasons. So TSP relabel Dp was a no go for me.
I don't understand why one would pay almost 3k for a stainless steel exhaust. However some questions will never be understood 🙂

to be fair we don’t know the price of the exhaust with the DP. If its about 2k its similar to say miltek. Price is fine if its quality (which seems to be)

Regarding the TSP DP. Some of us can't have our DP throw a code and the TSP takes care of that. I would much rather buy the cheaper higher flow DP from RV6. They do make beautiful products. I have the RSB and billet end links and they are almost too pretty to put on the car.

I was answering vlad question on why one would buy RV6 downpipe. I've got kuro with RV6 bypass valve attached to RV6 dp,fp going into boost logic exhaust. Don't believe you could do better lol
