Many group 3 and group 3+ base oils have not gotten ~10% worse like Pennzoil Ultra Platinum due to Qatar production supply chain issues.

Edit for accuracy: this sample was actually Valvoline Advanced, not EP. I was mistaken when I filled out the form.
The Valvoline Advanced sample maintained its viscosity much better than my previous Valvoline EP sample, but it also had about 1,200 miles less on it, and it looks like a different lab had tested it. So who knows if the data is reflecting any actual quality difference!

Thanks for an update. Now that there is this oil supply chain crisis, I'm researching which brands refineries have not been affected with the supply chain issue. Pennzoil Ultra Platinum now is technically not the same at all.

Given the frequency of oil change is #1 - I may even experiment with letting my dealership put in what ever dealership full synthetic they have and testing that. Given I'm changing my oil every 2000 miles, I don't think it will matter.

What engine oils do you guys know that still have Dexos ratings or have not changed quality since the oil crisis?

So far you can only get it in 10-40 and 5-30 here in Australia.

Can you imagine going 25k miles between oil changes?! These oil companies are 1 step away from claiming that their oil will never need to be changed again.

I have a bottle of the Edge in black with the Dexos 1 Gen 3 label on it. I purchased it for the truck I traded in for my FL5. What do you want to know? I have old PP Ultra 0w20 in the FL5 now but I'm swapping to 5w30 after this fill.

It would be good to get some lab results of edge extended performance. Just always been curious about it after the Nissan Skyline engine builder recommended Castrol as a very good oil to use.

The one metric that really stands out is the Flash point temperature is way way higher. 231c vs 203c pup. hmmmmm I may try
