New CF spoiler has been shipped out, supposedly after being inspected and with better packaging. Unfortunately still UPS so I'm sure they'll still find some way to wreck the box but hopefully the spoiler will be intact... 🤞

"New" spoiler arrived. As usual, the box was crushed by UPS, but ADP did add extra packaging that did help... Except this one was manufactured the exact same week as the last one and still has unacceptable lazy defects in the weave. They said they would order a new one from Honda but it seems like they just grabbed another one from their warehouse? It seems highly unlikely that a new one from Honda would be made the exact same week as the last one I had. Is it better? Yeah. Is it $2000 better? No, not really.

If its just going to be like that again, I would return it and get a refund. You'll probably have better quality from an aftermarket manufacturer.
I'm not quite ready to put the blame on all OEM parts, but there's definitely something up with this one production week. Plus, there's the new manufacturer. I'm going to call ADP and speak to the person who handled the exchange instead of just going by email and try to figure out what's going on.

I can also get it from the dealer and inspect it in front of them before paying for it. That at least cuts UPS out of the picture (if you can't tell, I really, really hate UPS for many reasons not part of this saga...).

This is really concerning. With 2 different spoilers having issues it doesn’t seem to be a fluke. I’ve almost bought this spoiler twice. Now I’m not so sure.

Return it and get a refund. If you really want this piece, be ready to buy the moment one pops up on the secondary market.

I think it's more likely this one particular production week had issues going by the number of people earlier in this thread who have no problems with theirs. For all I know both were built on the same day.

ADP has been pretty open during the exchange process so I'm going to try calling and seeing if they can get a newer one from after the manufacturer switch or at least from a different month from Bucci. If that one has any problems I'm giving up. They covered return shipping and will refund in full including shipping so I don't really lose anything beyond time trying one more time.

Ordered from alldiscountparts, who I've ordered plenty of other stuff from with no issues: https://www.alldiscountparts.com/oe...da-civic-carbon-fiber-wing-spoiler-8f02t60100

Yes, it's advertised as an OEM part, and has the Honda stickers that supposedly make it authentic. But yeah it looks like somebody took some fake CF vinyl wrap and put the cheapest clear they could find over it. Regardless this is getting sent back, and if they charge a restocking fee or make me pay return shipping I'm calling my credit card company because this is sketchy as hell.

I have said it before, these have had QC issues from the get go.

I should go check mine as I remember there is some gaps that does not have the CF, not as bad as this though not even close. My clear is shit too.

OK, so after speaking with ADP this was indeed the one Honda sent them. Apparently they sell the OEM CF spoiler fairly often and all of them came from Honda recently; they weren't just sitting in the dealer's warehouse for years before being sold. It seems Honda themselves are still going through a backlog of the Bucci parts, or at least the majority of the ones they have are still from Bucci vs the new manufacturer. Like @MooMoo said, the Bucci parts all seem to have varying degrees of defects because of QC issues.

That said, ADP said they would be OK with me installing it on my car to see how it looks, and if the defects are still noticeable they would give me a full refund. That's exactly what I did and... literally none of the defects I found while scrutinizing it with a flashlight are visible. I also couldn't find any defects in the clear coat, which seem to be a common problem, other than very fine swirl marks that I buffed out easily. I love the look of it as a whole so I'm going to keep this one. Note to anyone just coming into this thread, I'm talking about the second spoiler I received. Not the first one I showed in the OP which had ridiculous defects and damage everywhere.
