Canadian dealer asked what colour Type R I want

man all this talk about ppl getting their order entered in the portal even if they're #2 3 or 4 and other #1s have already signed bill of sale and already expecting delivery in weeks is making me worry again


since i am#1 in one dealer (i shared with you guys a screenshot of the last email they sent me) deposit confirmed car marked sold but nothing further, i would have liked to hear that my order is in the portal and here is your vin and come sign some papers ... i think they are only holding off because they dont have a firm date on delivery but they assured me they are getting one marked for me and in red sometime in Q1 2023

i am #2 in another and basically only getting anything if the #1 backs out, unlikely, again only got deposit in there

and #4, so i am told, with the first dealer i placed a deposit a year ago which they now refunded me and told me they will contact me if my name comes up for an order

btw at any point of time if one of these leads come up and i had already secured one i ll post here to have someone jump on it, i think it is only fair to go to the first person that dm me

I'm pretty sure u are good. They are just waiting for Honda to pick up your order and assign a car to it.

Again, only 15 are first batch cars. Your car is probably second batch. I wouldn't worry at all if I was in your position.

I've never experienced such a fucked up purchasing experience ever. House, car, other assets have not been this difficult.

I'm kinda over this JDM journey. Thus BS doesn't exist in the EDM world.

I honestly don't know why its this way. Type R, GRC, Supra, like wtf? Hyundai on the other hand calling me every week to get a N. And let's not forget the used FK8, the prices like why, why is it like this? I get the whole JDM crazy but its just too much now.

I have had a deposit via Stripe it was ar DEALER level not HONDA directly.

The multiple orders thing is kinda interesting. I guess I’ll check in with the dealers I have deposits at and see. None have refunded me or mentioned this honda portal for ordering. Either the sales reps don’t know anything or they are just blowing smoke. One sales rep just said don’t pull any of your deposits just yet and wait it out lol..

Got a call from the dealership, asking me if I wanted to order a type R. Asked which color do I want, and I asked which color do they've coming in, he said he's going to order it. I picked a color and gave them my CC & DL. No document or anything, just a phone call and nothing else after that.
So I wonder what’s happening here? Do I got the allocation? Or dealer is just playing sth?

Been lurking for a long while. 1st in line with one of the Alberta dealers since April and was offered the vehicle for 67k with 2k in accessories before tax and fees. I was baffled by the offer but extended negotiations by showing interest in more accessories such as the forged wheels and wing, maybe working that into the 17k mark up - which they call a market adjustment fee. I've called around practically every other dealership around the province, getting pricing of either msrp + a few k in accessories, or that they haven't determined pricing yet. To make it clear, there's no way I will pay that much extra for nothing in return, and they keep pushing the story that they have an 85k offer from someone not in line.

I've heard lots of people throw around the idea that it's illegal for Canadian dealers to mark up vehicles without actually giving you accessories of it, but between my calls with AMVIC and Honda Canada it seems like there's no way for the higher bodies to regulate pricing like that for independent dealers. Anyone have insight to this?

Used M2comp are too over priced
MSRP was 71k and there is nth to option at all. Almost everything come standard.
wait for the new M2, it should be here shortly.

The dealer I "ordered" I'll use that term loosly has told me i'm #3 and wants to bump me to #2. I'm also going to assume he bumped me up their list because I have a 22' to trade in on the CTR (he said that without saying that). I think the trade in fact helped me get higher up the list, kind of scummy for them to do, I feel bad for the others, but nothing I can do about it. However he keeps telling me "don't worry we are getting 2-3 in, you'll have it by next summer for sure" which I think is a load of shit. I started calling out of province and found a for sure thing on a 24' arriving this time next year or early 2024. Only problem is it's a non refundable deposit, but they said they aren't taking multiple deposits, only one and then done, so it does sound promising. But I used that leverage to try and strong arm the first dealer to tell me what the hell's going on. We'll see what happens, I guess I'm just along for the ride now.

I got my reply from my dealer, they are informing their client base of 30 ORDERS about the pricing and PRICING PROGRAM (wtf is a pricing program). Collecting the details and then assessing. They have orders going as far back as 2021 they claim.

Aka, GSM will assess deal by deal. Not sure how place in line is weighted in this process over deal profitability. I have a feeling pricing program will be offered to clients in a line basis, first person agree to terms will get it.

I feel you man. I gave up on this quest last month itself. Get a Golf R instead. That's what I am doing. If you can make do with the user-unfriendly infotainment, its the best all year round practical hot hatch with heated goodies inside.
