JDM Fanboy Dream Wheel Setup
Got around to installing the Spoon Wheel I had laying around that used to be in my S2000 with the Spoon Wheel Boss for the FL5 and an NSX R horn button. I decided to change the wheel on the car due to the fact the OEM wheel felt like it come from a bus and I kept banging it with my leg every time I got in and out.

The install was pretty straightforward and for the most part I used the instructions provided in the box, they were very well illustrated. My only hiccup was breaking the hub bolt loose, the impact gun I have was not strong enough. I ultimately had to go to Harbor Freight and buy the strongest 1//2 inch impact gun they sell to get it loose (I returned it of course like every other good citizen).

Overall I'm extremely happy with the result and the nostalgic feel of running this wheel. However, the wheel sits about half an inch further away now so I have ordered a 25mm Works Bell Hub spacer.

Please enjoy the following pics and don't mind my hairy white legs:

Damn that looks good. Sans your hairy white legs. 😂

The spoon wheel is 350mm right? What is the stock one?

LMAO I'm glad you like it!

The Spoon wheel is 340mm and the factory wheel is about 360mm.

I have a similar set up in my S2000. It would be nice to do this in the FL5 but not sure the wife would like it.

I like it! I also like the fact that it gets the damn button out of the way. I activate voice assistant constantly at the track!

😂 you need to pick one up again. Just wanted to share my NSX horn button and steering wheels setup.

Yup, these were expensive but very durable and covers the hump too.

Adding More Rotation
Been holding onto this since I bought the car, it's a Whiteline 22MM Rear Sway. I'm not a fan of the metallic silver paint it comes with so I got it powder coated satin black to make it look OEM.

11th Gen Honda Civic Club-Version FL5 Civic Type R Build Thread Whiteline Roll Bar 22MM.JPG

I've been hesitant to install as in my opinion the car rotates extremely well, but I did notice once you put stickier tires the car is less hesitant to do so. On my last two track days I was playing a lot with tire pressures to get it to rotate more on the low speed corners but only resulted in marginal differences. I'm booked to go to Sebring in June and I will hopefully have this bar installed.

My goal is to provide some proper feedback on the effects of installing a bigger rear sway bar on the FL5, for those of you who actually track their cars. I've noticed some FL5 owners are installing and in my opinion wasting money on front and rear sway bars, bracings, and aftermarket arms, and have yet to even touch a track surface. So it's been difficult to find some proper feedback on adding a slightly larger rear bar.

I had the RV6 goodies on my FK8 with the bar set in the middle position. Prepare to slide when the tires are cold!

LOL

I guess I'll start the day with the softer setting and see if it's enough for me.

The softer setting may be less than or equal to stock. Go ahead and challenge yourself with the middle setting, but be prepared to have quick hands just in case!
