Anyone know if the 2025 FL5 getting any free complimentary maintenance from Honda? Wordings on Honda's website is a bit vague...so short of going into a dealer to ask, any clarification would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

To answer your question I really don’t know. However, if you could avoid taking the car to a dealer for routine maintenance by an underpaid inexperienced lube tech who couldn’t care less about your car, that would probably be best.

this car is very easy to work on. Either go to an independent shop you trust or just do it yourself

Yes, basically covers 2 oil changes if you're willing to wait for the light at 10k miles.

That was one of the two changes made for the MY2025. That and the price increase of $800. 😆 It’s why I went ahead and got the MY2024 instead of waiting a month for the MY2025.

Good thought process, I was still saving up for a CTR at the time lol

I second this ... I haven't looked for a decent independent shop, but the dealer scratched my wheels doing a tire change (they had the tire in stock and were the best price, interestingly), and I found a shop rag in my intake (I'm not sure if/when I'll take them up on their free oil change). I planned to do my own regular maintenance anyways after, unless something breaks...

If Honda service pass would just let me get the oil and filters for free I'd do it myself. The dealer left my skid plate with one bolt missing and the other 3 loose. Worse still, they overfilled the level and claimed "it's impossible for us to overfill since we have it metered!", making the assumption that a car is magically fully drained and there's not excess oil when you drain it.

All new Hondas in the US come with 2 years of oil changes (Honda service pass)
It's odd that nothing on the Honda website mentions Honda Service Pass. It only mentioned Honda Care, which is a prepaid plan. My dealer where I purchased my car didn't mention it either. I did however, found it on a dealer website on the subject.

Agreed. However, I may need to bring my car back for warranty work in the future...hopefully NOT. Mind as well use this opportunity to test their competency or if I need to look elsewhere.

I ask Honda dealer back in 24 asking about my 23 if it had for oil service and they said no. I called Honda corporate and they said the same thing. Whatever I change the oil myself I was just trying to be lazy.

my understanding is that changing the oil yourself, or taking it to a non-Honda mechanic should not void the warranty.

I fully intend to change the oil myself, using Pennzoil Platinum Plus 0w-20, Fram ultra synthetic oil filter, and Votex quick drain valve

https://votex-us.com

better quality oil and parts, I know I'll do it right, cheaper, and faster (nearest dealership is 15-20 miles out, and I hate waiting)

I'll keep detailed records and receipts, and add a service record at the Honda website:

https://mygarage.honda.com/s/service-records

btw, my understanding is that the Honda OEM oil filter is a re-labeled cheapest Fram filter.

I wouldn't let the dealer perform service on my car if they were paying me to let them do it. I also change the oil a lot sooner than maintenance minder. I had the maintenance finally trigger at 15% and I am at almost 6k miles and I just did my second oil change.
