lol! This drove me crazy the first few washes! Then i figured out that it was because the water was hitting the door handle. I just put my key 50’ or so out of range when I'm washing now.

At least for EU cars, the fob can be disabled by pressing simultaneously both lock and unlock buttons for a couple of seconds.

Its annoying after a while. Washing car and you get the peep , peep over and over again. Was wondering if there’s a fob sequence to temporarily disable key. I know Toyota has a key fob function to temporarily disable the key from working/ Transmitting. Thanks.
i just put my key on my porch while i wash my car

It’s the water going over the door handle. The car can’t tell the difference between the water or you touching the handle.

Hi Guys, I wash my Type R FL5 every week by hand and I washed all my previous Civics and CRv myself. You don't need to do anything - Just leave the key fob inside the car when you wash your car and you won't have any problems. The doors can't lock from the outside when the key is inside.
