I've noticed on my Ktuner that I have the option to lower the threshold at which VTEC kicks in. I believe that factory is set at 5500 which is only 1k before redline. Has anyone modified this setting before? I don't see how lowering it to say 4500 could hurt but I thought I'd ask if anyone had prior experience. Thanks.

If lowering the VTEC threshold, the fuel trim needs adjustment too.
I'm not sure about the newest cars, but older Honda's were open Loop in VTEC (O2 sensor not adjusting mixture).

Honest question: What are you hoping to achieve by lowering the threshold?

I was hoping to achieve an answer to my question--has anyone tried this and what were the results? Unintended consequences? Experience only, no conjecture.

Isnt the V TaK on the exhaust side on these vs the FG2 which was front end and had the huge variation in power wind up?

I'm not sure about that. I have the sport touring so no vtec on the exhaust side.

VTEC is only on the exhaust side of the 11th Gen 1.5t. Its not even noticeable when you hit VTEC like on older cars. Changing the VTEC actuation on the 1.5t might not give you the same results as it did in the past with like a K series having it on both intake and exhaust. If you're looking for more power, you're better off tuning and getting more boost.
